Wedding Cakes

May 23, 2013 Bryanna

Hello friends!!

I hope everyone’s week is going well. It’s almost over. Every week that goes by means I am a week closer to my wedding day!! I have less than 4 months before the big day, and I am feeling all sorts of stressed out. So I decided to break out the gift from Marc’s sister, Tiah.

I think it would be easier planning a wedding when I am not attending school full time, working full time, and also in my brother’s wedding, which is a month and a half before mine. This summer is full!!

I am currently in the process of moving, so my house looks like a bomb. Stuff is everywhere. Marc and I are moving all my stuff out on Saturday. I am staying with my sister and some friends for a couple of months and then will get a place after my brothers wedding in August, for both Marc and I. So, lets add moving to the crazy hectic summer!! EEK!!

I am trying to narrow down a wedding cake. We have the wedding cake caterer selected, but I am trying to decide on style/design.

First things first, here’s what I have nailed down for the wedding:

  • Wedding Dress
  • Bridesmaid dresses
  • Wedding colors
  • Wedding Venue (ceremony & reception)
  • D.J.
  • Photographer
  • Save -the-dates
  • Wedding cake caterer
  • cater
  • Wedding Website
  • Decorations for ceremony and reception (well sort of)

Here’s what’s left to do:

  • Groomsmen attire
  • Registry
  • Order/Send Invitations
  • Engagement Photos (this will happen in June right before my sister-in-loves bridal shower, couldn’t have picked a better day to schedule those :))
  • Cake design
  • Food
  • Marriage License
  • Book Honeymoon
  • Book hotel room for night of wedding
  • Pick Florist/flowers
  • Wedding Hair picked out
  • Attendant gifts

I am probably missing so much!! Breathe…..

Okay, so here’s what I am thinking for the cakes (and I might need some help deciding):

I am going square, because they feed more (and our wedding list keeps growing). I like simplicity, but elegant too!!

For this I was thinking of writing, “Happily Ever After” instead, but the Happily might be to large for on top. I like how this cake is off centered. The ribbon would be fuchsia or purple (my wedding colors) and I would use real flowers instead of the white frosting looking flowers.

I love the fuchsia colored flowers and ribbon, but the swirls might be too much for me.

I kind of like the swirls on this, but think off centered looks better and of course different flowers.

I love the off centered look, and how the flowers fall (I think that’s frosting, so I would use real flowers).

I took these off my favorite wedding site: Pinterest. There are so many great looking cakes, but my sister always reminds me to stop looking and narrow down. I have a tendency to look at bridesmaid and wedding dresses over and over again, even though I already have mine ordered, which only makes me worry I picked the wrong ones; thus these are my options….NO MORE LOOKING!!

I think the first, second, and last are my favorite, but it’s so hard to decide!!

What do you think? Any suggestions?

I love the third cake! How gorgeous. Hang in there, because all of the really important stuff happens after the wedding. You have a busy summer ahead!
