A Weekend Away for a Bachelorette Party

September 3, 2013 Bryanna

Howdy folks!!

I was away again for the weekend in Montana (it’s been the year of traveling). It’s the best way to spend the last weekend of summer vacation. Nothing’s better than the big blue sky of Montana.

I went to Seeley Lake to spend some time with my girl friends, mom, and sisters for my bachelorette party. My family and friends made it so much fun!! It was great to have just a girls weekend, with my little nephew included as well.

I made sure to start the road trip with the appropriate attire, my Lunatik Athletiks compression socks, and we were on our way.

After all the girls arrived, we wasted no time at all getting to the lake. I love spending time in the sun.

We relaxed some and then split into teams for a kayaking race. Of course Team Bride won!!

The losers had to jump off the docks. My sister tried getting out of it, thus she was chased into the lake.

Before leaving the lake we posed for a group photo.

We got ready for the night at the cabin.

They had a scavenger hunt planned, that had to be completed before arriving to dinner. We split into teams again, and were off. We had little tasks to complete which included finding a penny with the brides birth date, finding a recipe for good marriage from a stranger, a recipe from a local, a picture at the Chicken Coop,

and finally a balloon. I had to buy the appropriate materials needed for this balloon (my first time ever making such a purchase).

Hannah, my bestie, was left to the task of making a balloon.

We checked everything off our list and headed to the restaurant, beating the other team by mere seconds. It made slamming my foot into the car door totally worth it (regretted this on the next morning’s run). Team Bride wins again!!

After I dinner and opening gifts, we decide to do some karaoke. Lucky us it was karaoke night at the Filling Station. You all know I love to sing, but let’s be honest, it doesn’t sound pretty. But I enjoyed it all the same.

My younger sister, Mariah, sang two songs with more dancing then singing. She was completely sober, but you couldn’t tell. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. My abs hurt!! I was tempted to post the videos.

I sang “I love Rock n’ Roll” by Joan Jet with my older sister. Then the whole group of us sang the song from Dirty Dancing, “I’ve had the time of my Life.” The crowd didn’t want us to leave. They loved us, but I think who they really liked was my little sister and her moves. 😉

After a late night, it was great to wake up to crisp mountain air and a 5 mile run.

Most of the girls had to leave Sunday morning, so the rest of us relaxed by the water and did some boat surfing. Later that evening, Cassie, Hannah, and my cousin Lindsay and I went on a boat ride and swim.

Our evening swim ended with a skinny dip and a pretty sunset. It was great to just hang out and talk.

It finally hit me that this is one of my last weekends with my girlfriends and family as a single woman before I am married. I can’t believe the big day is in 18 days.

In two days I am leaving for Ragnar Relay, Colorado.  I am calling it a second bachelorette party!!

How did you spend your labor day weekend?
