Run This Year

January 3, 2014 Bryanna

Happy Friday friends!!

TGIF!! Even though I had New Years Day off this week seemed to drag on for me and I am so glad it’s finally Friday. I started the morning with a plank and a 8.44 mile run, 4 miles at goal marathon pace. Boston training has begun folks.

I am happy to announce that I am apart of the Run This Year team. I have been labeled one of the run guru’s, so you will be reading at least one featured post a month tied to Run This Year. I am excited to play the role as an encourager with motivational themed posts and tips/advice for achieving whatever your running goals are for the year.

As part of the team, I am able to offer my support and expertise in anyway I can. I completed the Run This Year challenge last year. My goal was to run the year in miles, 2013 miles, and I achieved my goal covering 2121.19 miles for the year. The support from the running community kept me running and inspired, and I am excited to offer that same support and inspiration.

If you want to be apart of the challenges, with the opportunity to win some cool prizes from awesome companies, you can find all the information you need here. You don’t have to be a seasoned runner to be apart of the challenges. Whether it’s your first year of running or your 10th, you’ll want to be apart of the Run This Year challenges and fun.

If you want to do Kilometers and you live in a country where Kilometers rule, then these numbers will still work for you.

If you want to aim for the challenge of running this year in miles you can find a PDF, printable version of a training plan to get you there. Or you can run this year in kilometers with a plan tailored for this goal (which is 1251.4 miles). The break down of what this looks like is below (for kilometers) and above (for miles).

If you want to do Kilometers but think in miles, this will help you out.

Or you can chose your own goal for the year (GYOG). You pick the mileage you want to hit for the year, or you can break it down by months and go for it.

To be included in the prizes you must keep track of your mileage, daily or monthly, and enter it in this form. The link to this video will help explain all the details further and walk you through all the steps!!

This month’s theme is #rundetermined. I will have a post later in the month to go with our Run This Year teams theme. It’s always easier to stay determined when you have the support of others!!

Whether you want to be apart of the slew of other runners who have already signed up or not, I hope you chose some goals for this year to stay active and healthy!! And as always let me know of any questions you may have.

Stay tuned for more fun and inspiration to get you motivated & determined to achieve whatever your running goals are for the year!!

Until next time, Be Whole, Be Fit and Be Determined!!
