The last of the Wedding Posts!!
I decided to combine the two since there aren’t as many photos that need to be shared, although I wish I could share them all.
I believe photos will do a better job of capturing the day and I hope you enjoy reliving my day with me…..and if you haven’t, don’t worry it’s the last post!! 😉
The Ceremony:Â
Mother and Father-in-love
The mothers walked down to “Divine Romance” by Phil Wickham
My mother and brothers
I was so nervous before walking down the aisle. My dad was doing his best to make me laugh. I felt like I could faint. Soon the mothers were seated and the bridal party was making their way down (they walked down to Enya, “One by One.”
Before I knew it my dad and I were up. My brothers rolled out an aisle runner after the last bridesmaids walked down and the ring bearers and flowergirls led the way. The bride’s entrance song was “A Thousand Years”, The Piano Guys (all instrumental).
Nephews
NiecesÂ
Marc waiting for his Bride!!
I lost weight before the wedding, hence the reason I am holding my dress up. It made for some unflattering photos.
My Father giving me away. This was a tear jerker!!
I wanted God to be the center of the ceremony. My pastor from my hometown did a great job of making that happen and made sure to discuss our Heavenly Father’s plan for marriage.
We named our 5 reasons for marrying each other & read them to each other:
Had a scripture reading from a dear friend, Angel 1 Corinthians 13:4-13:
Exchanged vows:
Had communion (Our friend Naomi sang and played the piano to “A Little Longer” Jenn Johnson) :
Had another scripture reading (Ruth 1:16-17) from my brother, who also gave a little speech (which wasn’t part of my very planned ceremony):
But he made us laugh and touched my heart!!
Had a family blessing from the parents with an oil ceremony (played “One Thirst and One Hunger” Jeremy Riddle):
Exchanged rings:
“I know pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may now kiss your bride”
“I give to you for the first time Mr. and Mrs……” (walked out to “You’re the One that I want” Grease)
And just like that the ceremony was over & we were MARRIED!! It all went by so fast.
We signed our Marriage Licence and headed to the reception (all at the same venue):
Reception Highlights
Of course we started with the food after they announced us. I was starving. I had barely anything to eat all day because I was so nervous (I don’t recommend this).
After eating we had toasts from the Best Man, Mateo,
My Matron of Honor, Cassie (older sister):
Followed by the Maid of Honors funny toast, Mariah (younger sister):
We wasted no time cutting the cake (we had carrot cake, lemon raspberry, red velvet and chocolate):
Marc made that wonderful sign!! Love his creativity….
Marc fed me nicely and I opted for the smearing:
Played the song “Sugar Sugar” by The Archies
Our First Dance:
“I won’t Give Up” Jason Mraz
Father/daughter Dance:
“My Little Girl” Tim McGraw
Mother/Son Dance:
“Your Song,” Garth Brooks
The Dancing:
My family loves to Dance!! My brother flipped me in my wedding dress. I wasn’t expecting that and he was twirling Marc around so fast Marc didn’t have time to think twice.
Bouquet Toss:
Girls can get violent, but My sister came out with the win….uh oh Mom and Dad another wedding!!
Garter Toss:
The Sunset Photos:
We had an amazing sunset that night after the ceremony, which obviously provided us with some great photos. It was absolutely stunning. When they first announced us and threw open the barn doors, our backdrop was amazing.
Before we knew it, our limo had arrived and it was time to leave. We had lavender satchels filled for our guests to throw on us as we left. It’s always good to smell lovely on your wedding night. 😉
That wraps up all the wedding posts friends!! So much fun. I do have to say it was a lot of hard work planning for only a couple hours of enjoyment. I would definitely get married all over again (to Marc of course) if I didn’t have to do any of the planning. 😉
After 4 months of marriage I am blessed beyond compare and I am having so much fun. Can’t wait to see all the adventures God has in store for Marc and I over the next 50/60 or more years!!
Until next time Be Whole and Be Fit
