Year of Running 2014

December 17, 2014 Bryanna

I did a post like this last year, and wanted to join in the fun again. Miss Zippy hosts a year in review link up for running, and I wanted to add mine as well. It’s fun and a great way to meet other new runner bloggers as well.

Being pregnant for most of the year (since I got pregnant end of January), made this year especially interesting, challenging, and surprising. I still enjoyed 13 races, 12 of those while pregnant. My racing took me to 4 different states.

So here’s my year in review:

  • Best race experience? This has to go to the Boston Marathon. It was an amazing year, especially coming back after the events in 2013. I loved being apart of the Boston experience, and running with many individuals who were also apart of the 2013 race. I also ran it 13 weeks pregnant, which gave the race even more meaning to me.
  • Best run? This is a tough one, being that I was pregnant the majority of 2014 and most my runs were challenging. My trail runs over the early summer had to be some of my best runs.  good morning on the trails
  • Best new piece of gear?  Loving my new Janji leggings and top. They have been amazing during the cold weather and are super soft and comfy. I love how they don’t ride. Also, my new sports bras have been life savers now that my boobs have grown two sizes because of breast feeding. 😉
  • Best piece of running advice you received? Do lots of squats and plank to help keep your muscles during pregnancy. Not really running advice, but I know these moves helped my running. Also, take it easy during pregnancy and listen to your body.running near 5 mile
  • Most inspirational runner? All the runners who had lost someone in the 2013 bombings at the Boston Marathon or had lost of limb and who ran Boston in 2014 were all very inspiring. It’s hard not to feel inspired by those who have far greater challenges than myself. 4-21-14 Marathon Morning Finish Bry and I 1
  • If you could sum up your year in a couple of words, what would they be? Surprisingly Rewarding

Now it’s your turn, how was your year in running?

I followed you every step of the way in 2014. You inspired me when pre-pregnancy, but you were even more inspiring running through your pregnancy (how is that possible?) You are so strong and such a talented runner. I really look forward to seeing what 2016 brings to you, and your family. xoxo

Way to put together a great year of running! I too, loved all my trail runs this year. Really just the best way to get it done. And I love your approach to running while pregnant–sounds like you did all the right things. Looking forward to your 2015–should be a strong one! Thanks for linking up.
