It’s hard to believe Baby R is already 5 months. I feel like I am a broken record, as I say this every time it’s time for an update. Life moves so fast, and even faster when you have kids.
Baby R,
5 months!! Oh does time fly. I feel as if you are getting louder and louder. You love to be vocal. I love how you talk yourself to sleep before naps and sometimes before bed if you aren’t entirely exhausted. You love your alone time before nap time, and just want 5-15 minutes to yourself. Much like mommy!! I am kind of jealous of your “you time” 😉
Wouldn’t it be nice if you took a bottle? Well, I think it would be. It turns out you rather fast for an entire 8 hours than drink from a bottle. At my recent half marathon, your aunt was left in charge of you. I was gone for 8 hours and thought for sure it would break you into a bottle, or end up with my sister pulling her hair out. But you were happy as could be, only got fussy once, and just decided to sleep most the time. I think it’s because you felt comfortable with her, being you see her all the time.
I am so blessed that you still love to sleep through the night, 10-12 hours without waking once. Even after you wake up, you tend to eat and want to go back down for another couple of hours. You still love your morning nap and your afternoon nap too. You nap on average a total of 3-5 hours per day. If your nap time is interrupted, you can get annoyed and fussy. You don’t like to skimp on your sleep. You get that from your dad. 😉
Mornings are your favorite time of day and you get this from me. You are always so full of smiles in the morning. I usually find you in your crib, with your legs sticking straight up, or sometimes you’ve completely turned yourself around, just talking to yourself and smiling.
You rather look at your feet then play with them, but you love to suck on those hands. Baby girl you put anything you can grab to your mouth, mostly blankets and toys. Sometimes you get mad at those toys if you can’t get them to your mouth, and you’ll let us know all about it. Oh and your latest obsession is licking and sticking your tongue out. When I hold you in the wrap, you cover me in drool with all your licking.
Every morning, you tell me all about your dreams before you fall back asleep. You love to lay in my arms and just talk. I love listening. My favorite part of this stage is how before I lay you down for bedtime or a nap, you give me a big smile before dosing off. Even if you are half asleep, you still muster up a smile. Melts my heart.
You can be quite nosy, wanting to see everything and be apart of everything. It makes nursing take forever. If I am texting someone or talking on my phone, you want to be apart of it. Flipping through a magazine, you want to read too.
Baby girl, you love your books. We read a couple stories before bed time and always a story from your Bible. I think you love the colors and shapes. We’re learning lots of new lessons too. 😉
Tummy time is more fun for you now, but you’re not sure about the whole rolling over thing. You’ve done it a couple of times, but you don’t see the reason to do it. You rather study your toys and objects, and drool yourself through multiple bibs and outfits.
You are in the 55th percentile for weight and 77th percentile for height. Your pooping has slowed down, and I think that makes your dad very happy. Oh and you love little kids. You watch them intently. Really, you love to watch all people.
When you’re fussy or crying, singing “Jesus Loves You” and “You are My Sunshine” always seems to calm you down. You even smile when you hear mommy sing. You also love to hear your cousin sing too and he loves singing to you. You and him look so much alike it’s scary.
Love you Baby R and all your smiles and drools!!
Love, Mom
Hope you all have a great weekend!!
Until Next Time Be Whole and Be Fit
