8 Month Update

June 22, 2015 Bryanna

Baby R turned 8 months a few days ago. She is exactly 4 months younger then her cousin Gabe, so she got to celebrate his 1st birthday with him. I have already decided they are going to be best friends.

He loves to kiss and love on her, a little bit rough, but she takes it!! She’s a tough cookie. It’s nice having my sister living so close so R can be near some of her cousins. The first borns on my side.

My little Bean isn’t so little any more. Looking at her new born photos makes me sad. She has grown so much already. I can’t believe how much they change and grow in 8 months. It’s almost like she’s not even the same kid any more. 🙂

Baby R,

Oh how I love you!! But you need to slow down and stop growing!! You are in the 90th percentile for height missy, and it definitely shows. I had to retire your 6-9 month p.j.’s about a month ago, because you were/are far too long for them. We just moved into most 9 month clothes, because of your length. And it looks as though your 9 month p.j.’s are almost too short too. Won’t be long in those.

You loving standing with assistance. I think it’s because you see everyone else standing, especially your cousins. You always want to be doing what those boys are doing. You love being with them. R you are pulling yourself up now, mainly using my hands or daddy’s hand to do so.

You dance when your piano and walker play music. It’s cute. And you love the jumper/exersaucer. You get to moving really jumpy like.

I can tell you are a social butterfly and need people. Someone always has to be in the room with you. You are in a “Mom don’t leave me” stage. You did well the first time in the nursery at church and it was harder for me to let you go, but the last couple times I have been paiged to come and get you or you have been crying when I do. Always in tears when I do finally make it back to save the volunteers 😉

I can’t leave a room without you crying, and it doesn’t take you long to notice I am gone when I sneak out of a room. Even if I go 5 steps away, the whining and crying starts. So you’ve been a great help at vacuuming (one armed is tough by the way), washing the dishes, making dinner, and even cleaning the bathrooms. I just take you wherever I go, and wear you if I have to.

R you love your solids now. You even love peas!! I think blueberries are your favorite fruit, with peaches a close second. We have only tried blueberries, peaches, applesauce and banana. You make quite a mess when you eat those blueberries.

I love making your baby food. You have been learning to pick up food and feed yourself. We started with the avocado. It was a little bit tough, because it’s oily.

I love your little snort and cheesy grin. You love making faces and playing with your cousins. You also love watching people, especially little kids. When you are at the park you could sit and watch them for hours it seems like.

R, I love that you enjoy your runs in the stroller with Dad and I. We have been going more as a family. You just lounge out and relax, and most times fall asleep. You also talk to the passing cars.

Instead of moving forward, you army crawl backwards. I am not sure why you don’t like moving forward. We have been working on it. You’ll bring your chest off the ground, arms fully extended and scoot it backwards, even farther from your toys.

Still my sleeping baby. Pretty consistent at 11 hours every night. Down around 7-7:45ish and up at 6-6:30ish a.m, then you eat and go back down until 8-9ish. And still taking your 2 naps during the day. This could be the reason you are so tall!! 😉

We get to start swimming lessons in July. I can’t wait. You seem to like the water. At my last race we stayed and played in the lake, and you loved splashing around.

R I love you very much and love watching you grow. Your personality is starting to show more and more, and you already seem so kind hearted. Oh did I mention you love dogs?! Daddy won’t let us get one just yet though…..I am working on it. When you can talk you should beg him. 😉

Love, Mom

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Oh she’s so precious!! Glad to hear everything is going well, Z just started solids and so far she likes avocado and sweet potatoes. I have tried apple sauce and banana but she wasn’t much into them. I’m sure she will be soon though swim lessons should be fun, M is in them right now and I would love to do some with Z but I think I’ll wait till she’s closer to a year.

That’s awesome. I am glad solids are going well for Z!! How exciting. I can’t wait for R’s swim lessons, we will see how they go.
