We are heading to MT for the weekend and I couldn’t be more excited. I miss Montana summers and the big, blue sky. It’s been too long since I have enjoyed the fresh air of the Big Sky State and the rolling hills to run.
I had my friend in town the past week, a college roommate and we enjoyed cooler temperature and reminiscing about our college years and what it was like before I had a child. It’s always nice to have adult interaction sometimes, especially since I spend the bulk of my day with a now 10 month old. It’s truly a blessing to be home most of the time, but sometimes getting out with adults is fun and much needed.
The summer has flown by, and sadly so has my child’s growth. 10 months already!! Everyday she amazes me, surprises me, and makes me smile.
Baby girl,
You have mastered waving “bye-bye” and “Hi.” You also say “Hi” and “Bye-bye” they were your first words, besides mamma and dadda. I love it. It’s so cute. You also love to watch me clap and are finally getting the hang of it yourself. And did I mention you love to dance?! I love how you bob your head up and down.
I gave you pancakes for the first time a week or so ago, homemade from me, and you couldn’t stuff them in your mouth fast enough. I should have videoed you eating them. You loved them, but that doesn’t say much because I feel you’ll eat anything. I am constantly feeding you solids or breast feeding you. If someone is eating, you have to be eating, but some how you are slimming down. I honestly can’t feed you enough.
Your new favorite thing is sitting yourself up while in bed, but then you fall asleep bent over because you haven’t figured out how to lay yourself back down. It looks terribly uncomfortable, so I always put you back on your back. You sometimes end up on your belly too, and you have to have your blanket near your face. You also love to play with a stuffed animal before falling asleep.
You would rather butt scoot every where you go. You can plank, and bring yourself to a seated position from your belly, but you just don’t want to move by crawling. You rather be upright and moving. I love holding your hands so you can walk around. We walk around the house alot to practice or you’ll scoot your way around to follow me into rooms. Starting to get into things you are.
You just got your 2 front teeth. They finally popped through a few weeks ago. I think the amber necklace helped you, because you weren’t as fussy when they broke through the gums, just drooled like crazy. Your teeth make you look way older than you should!! And your mouth is still sore as the teeth come down.
Baby girl you are still wearing 9-12 month clothes, but pants are too short now. I have learned you rather eat your shoes then keep them on your feet, so we go barefoot most of the time. You also love eating grass and anything you find on the ground, which makes park days fun!! 😉
We’ve been enjoying a few lake days and some swimming, one of your favorites. We have had lots of visitors in the past month, and you bring a smile to everyone’s face. You are still in a “stranger danger” stage, but have been making it through church service in the nursery for the most part.
Lately, you have been sleeping more and more. You go down in between 7-8:00 p.m., wake up at 6 a.m., eat and then go back down until 8-9:00 a.m. You have breakfast when you wake up, then I breast feed you at 10-11:00 a.m. and you go back down to sleep. Once you wake up you have lunch, and then I breast feed you before you lay down for an afternoon nap inbetween 2-3:00 p.m. You wake up for dinner and then back down for “night-night.”
You’ve been running a lot of races with dad and I!! We are always the first stroller across the line and you are first in your age group 😉
I am still breastfeeding you 4 times a day, but you eat solids for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and sometimes have a few snacks throughout the day. I love using fresh vegetables and fruit from our garden or Farmers Market for you. All the beets and carrots you have ate are from our garden. The peaches we picked ourselves. So fun.
Baby girl you love to play with balls. You throw them and then chase after them, by scooting to them to pick them up and throw again. And you have quite the arm on you!! You also love anything that makes noise so you can dance, and you enjoy praise and worship at church.
Love you baby girl!!
Have a great weekend all!!
