LJ’s 2 Month Update

November 4, 2016 Bryanna

Happy Friday,

Going to end the week with another kid’s update. LJ turned 2 months over a week ago, and I thought it would be fun to share how he is growing and doing, and this way one day he can look back on it. It seems they change so much in only a month, and he doesn’t seem the same baby. We’re making progress in so many areas.

“LJ,

We love you little buddy. Your sister talks about you incessantly and loves to help with you. Sometimes she’s a little rough, but it’s making you more tough I guess. You handle it pretty well. You like to be held more than R did, making it hard for me to accomplish much throughout the day, especially after 5 p.m. This is your fussy time and you cry or scream if you aren’t being held until bed time, and even if you are being held. It seems in the past week you have gotten better about this and don’t scream as much in the evenings.

You had your 2 month checkup and are only in the 20th percentile for weight, but this is because of your acid reflux. It causes you a lot of discomfort and pain, but you have managed it so well. I have been using DOTerra’s DigestZen oil before each feeding. I think it has helped immensely, because you aren’t throwing your food up as much and you aren’t as fussy. You have gained almost 4 pounds since birth though just over 11 pounds now. For height you are in the 50th percentile and have mom’s skinny legs.

You are wearing 3-6 months clothing and 0-3 months in some outfits still. The 3-6 months are too big for you still, but you’ll grow into them. You are just nursing and haven’t shown a liking to a bottle, which can be difficult with my coaching schedule, but we have got by. You have taken a bottle for your auntie, but it’s a struggle and you don’t drink much from it even though it’s my milk. I am hoping that you won’t be bottle averse like your big sister was. 27th-super-regionals-lincoln

You don’t sleep as much as R did, but this is because of the burning from the reflux. You go down around 7/7:30 and then wake up once or twice throughout the night. Some nights you aren’t up until 2/3:00 a.m. and then again at 7/8 a.m, and other nights it’s every 3-4 hours. You did have two straight nights of sleep for 7 hours straight without waking while at Nana and Papa’s in Montana. I am hoping you come back to that!! But I can’t complain, because your sleep is getting so much better than what it was even a month ago.

We bought you a Rock’n’play and that has helped your sleeping, because you can stay elevated. You don’t typically like your floormat, but do seem to enjoy it more in the mornings. You do like your swing, however, and love your carseat. That’s where you take your best naps. Whenever we go anywhere you fall right asleep and I can get all my errands ran before you wake up. Some naps are only 1 hour, but others 2-4 hours. The morning nap is the longest. lincoln-john-2-months-old

You enjoy bath time and love to lay on your changing table staring at the wall and lights. I put you on there at times to calm you down, because you like it so much.

LJ you smile so much!! You are such a happy baby for being uncomfortable. You love smiling at the sound of my voice and smile at daddy when he plays with you. You are getting stronger and stronger too and have been otherwise healthy. I love how you have started cooing as well.

You have been a great traveler, because we have done lots of it in the past month. It makes it so much easier to have good travelers. You don’t poop as much as your big sister did. Maybe once or twice a day and sometimes you even skip a day. We are using cloth diapers and you don’t use a binki or suck your thumb yet. I don’t know if I am going to use a binki either. Haven’t decided yet. Maybe for use during the day only.

Love, Mom”
