Somebody pinch me!! It is as if I woke up one morning and both my children were so grown up. R more a big kid then a toddler, and little man more a toddler than an infant. He’s changed so much in the past month and already getting so big.
So it’s that time all ready, another update.
“Baby Boy,
You bring a smile to my face daily. You love to smile. I love how you smile at your sister and your mom and dad. You greet nearly everyone with a smile. Truly are a happy baby. I can see the joy in you, and I know you have true joy, because you are still battling the reflux. I know this brings you pain and discomfort. Yet you smile and smile.
On Thanksgiving you had your first laugh. So cute. You still love your cooing and talking, always making noises. You need to be heard. I have been reading you books with your big sister, praying over you and singing you songs. When I lay you down anywhere, you wildly kick your feet. It has made changing your diaper a bit of a challenge for sure.
Your favorites are bath time with big sister, laying on your changing table mat, and being held. Oh and of course nursing. Although, nursing can be a long process because of the reflux. You spend a lot of time screaming before most feedings. This is common in the silent reflux. It is only a season, that’s what I kept telling us.
It looks as if you are growing and growing. I think you are now close to 13 pounds and are 24 1/2 inches long. Your 4 month checkup will do a better job of accurately measuring weight and height. I do know you are growing out of your 3 month clothes, or at least some of them. And then you are still in some 0-3 month onesies. Your legs are long and skinny though.
You hair came in even more!! It’s really blonde. I think you are going to have your dad’s thick hair. We can’t decide who you look like. It seems a mixture of everyone. I can see you papa Ron at times, your sister, your cousin, and other times your dad. I think as you continue to grow it will become more apparent.
Baby boy you are still loving your rock’n’play for sleeping and being swaddled. Laying flat isn’t your thing. You are also waking up 1-2 times at night, sometimes 3. For the most part you are in bed between 7-7:30 p.m. I can’t keep you up any later than that. You then wake up sometimes at 10-11:00 to eat or 1-3:00 a.m. to eat. Then you may sleep until 7 a.m. or until 5:30 a.m. It really does depend on the night. We had a schedule going until daylight savings happened and lots of appointments.
During the day you like your morning nap and then two short afternoon naps. I try to keep you up from 4:30 until bed time. Still just exclusively breast feeding.
Tummy time isn’t your favorite, but I know some tricks to make it easier on you. We do elevated tummy time and you are so strong. Trying really hard to roll over. Physical therapy has helped your torticollis. Your head is more and more straight everyday. I have really been working on your stretches. Torticollis is a tight muscles and is common among infants. It’s easier to treat at younger ages, so we are glad we caught it earlier so it doesn’t cause lasting effects.
You have your fussy times throughout the day, but I think it has gotten better. I think you are already starting to teeth, as you drool so much and are wanting to suck everything.
We love you baby boy!! Can’t believe it’s already been 3 months. You need to slow down mister.
Love, MOM”
