Before 2017 begins, a certain someone has a 4 month update. 4 months has seemed to be a blur really. I feel I can barely keep up with this little one’s growing.
“L,
You are a blessing. It was a rough last month, with lots of tears from both mommy and you. You were crying and screaming a lot more, and we were going to appointments almost every day. We started the chiropractor to help with the tortacollis and to help with the reflux. I have already seen some dramatic changes.
Over the past week you have been doing lots better with reflux. Especially in the last few days. Not as much throwing up and you are not as fussy anymore. You aren’t screaming before feedings any more and I haven’t had to leave the room. The past week has been great. It’s almost as if turning 4 months turned a new page in your book.
Your sleeping hasn’t improved any, but I am looking forward to when it does. I think I have become so used to waking up, I don’t even remember doing it. Lately I have been waking myself up because I couldn’t remember if I put you pack in your rock’n’play. I don’t know if that is more scary or not. 😉 I think we will be moving you into your crib soon. You are out growing the rock’n’play. I have lowered it flat to get you used to being on your back, and you don’t seem to mind it. We are doing crib for nap times now, we just started this.
I think I will give it another month and I might try the letting you scream it out at night instead of getting up to feed you a few times. I don’t if 5 months is to early. Â I know you are well fed, and mommy is tired. It’s a theory that has worked for so many other moms, I think I’ll give it a try. We will see.
You have been sick this week, so up every few hours at night time. We have had a cold/flu going around and sister I think gave it to you. Your fever is finally under control, but your cough is still pretty bad. It hurts your little chest and throat. We have been doing essential oils to help. Typically, when you aren’t sick and teething, you get up once or twice, sometimes three times, at night time. You are kind of all over the board still.
You stared teething and are chewing on your hands and drooling a lot. You don’t like to put teething rings in your mouth, I have tried. Only your hands. You are definitely a people person. I discovered this even more this past weekend while in Montana. L you are content just being held by anyone and watching everyone, being in their presence. You often times join in on the conversation as well. It’s funny. Even if you are tired and hungry, just being in a room of people keeps you content. If you aren’t feeling well or the reflux is hurting you, you only want mommy though.
Your smile is so big. Even while sick you smile through the tears and coughs. I love it. L you will smile for just about anyone. I know you have the joy of the Lord. Pure J O Y !!
L you are growing like a weed. 96th percentile for height at 26.5 inches and 19th percentile for weight at 14 pounds. I think you have my genes for weight. I was off the charts tiny as a child. I think the reflux makes it hard for you to gain weight, but at least you are gaining weight, even if it is small amounts. We had to move you into 6 month clothes, because you are so long. Built of muscle.
Everyone that holds you, comments on how strong, stiff and muscular you are. “Made of steel” they say. You are constantly in flexion according to your physical therapist and chiropractor, which is why the stiffness in the neck has been hard to correct.
You have rolled over a few times and are getting better at tummy time. You babble away while on the floor playing, grabbing at toys now and loving to watch your hands. You smile at your sister a lot as well. Still exclusively breast feeding. We won’t try solids for a few more months. I do have a freezer full ready though.Â
You are enjoying your bumbo chair and reading books with big sissy. You love watching people and talking to them, and you don’t mind car rides.
We love you Mister L and couldn’t imagine our lives without you. Much more fun to come in 2017.
Love, Mom”
Have a great New Year!! Happy New Year……..2017 here we come……
