Happy Wednesday Folks, or whats left of it.
I am finally realizing that no matter how much I listen to Bob Marley on the way to work it won’t bring me back to Jamaica or bring Jamaica here. My tan is fading and it snowed yesterday morning, thus I am faced with the reality that our honeymoon in Jamaica is no more….How sad.
We got back last week, but it seems like forever ago. We have been busy with one thing after another. I still have those moments where I am on the beach, soaking up the rays enjoying a great book, then snow falls and my work email dings, and I am jolted back to reality. It’s safe to say Marc and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I thought I would start off the posts on our honeymoon with my favorites of Jamaica. Narrowing it down to just 5 wasn’t easy. There were so many great things about Jamaica. We definitely didn’t want to leave. It was nice to have a week with my man, just relaxing. I can’t wait to share our adventure in photos!!
Favorites of Jamaica:
1. The people!!
guides for our climb up the Dunns River Falls
The Resort Staff
Our crew man on our sailing/snorkeling adventure
By far the best part of Jamaica was the Jamaicans. They are so amazing!! Always courteous and helpful and wanting to make sure you are enjoying yourself and have what you need. Never once did I feel threatened or mislead. They have amazing sense of humor and really try to make your stay as fun as possible. Even our tour guides were amazing!! They truly stand by the “One love” “No Problem” and “Yeah Mon”. Love it!!
2. The Beaches
Okay so Jamaica’s water is the clearest, bluest water I have ever seen!! You can literally see the bottom, even when you are way off the shore. It was gorgeous. Having the sand beneath my feet and hearing the waves crashed against the shore was definitely relaxing and nearly put me to sleep…Marc fell asleep a time of two. I loved spending my days on the beach with a book and my hubby.
3. The Infinity Pool
Marc and I spent a lot of time at the pool too. It was never crowded which is probably because it’s huge!! It almost wraps around the entire backside of the resort. There’s a swim up bar and lots of areas to lay in the water…..by the way greatest way to stay cool while working on your tan. Even jets in some areas and mini Jacuzzi.

4. Snorkeling and Sailing
This was definitely an adventure. It was my first time snorkeling. I loved seeing the fish and different sea creatures and plants. It’s pretty under the water!! The crew made it fun during the sailing trip to the reef and on the way back home. Sailing back to the resort was one of the scariest things I have done. Water was pouring in the sailboat, as it was windy and the waves were big. People were sliding all over, and the crew were yelling at each other trying to fix the sails. The crew kept bringing me their special of Coconut Rum with Pineapple juice. I am not a drinker, so I was always asking light on the Rum, but I think it had helped calm my nerves a little. Needless to say it was an adventure I won’t forget.
5. Spending time with my Hubby
He’s a crazy man drinking my pineapple juice with his cranberry juice
Let’s just state the obvious, the honeymoon wouldn’t have been a honeymoon without my man. It was so great being able to relax and have each others undivided attention for a while. I loved trying new things with him and enjoying the local cuisine and culture with him. He definitely made it fun too!! Even though we spent most of our time laying by the water and reading, it was still time spent together. We explored our HUGE resort together, ran together, and had many laughs.
6. Okay I lied, one more: The Sunsets
Amazing!! It’s so pretty watching the sunset over the water. There was a beach for just that, Sunset Cove Beach. It had to be one of my favorite beaches. It was definitely the most populated. I have never seen any sunsets like the ones I saw in Jamaica. The above photos and the following photos were from our first night in Jamaica.
There were so many great parts of Jamaica. I have many more photos to share and adventures!!
Where did you honeymoon? Or where would you like to honeymoon?
