Hello all!! Okay so I am super late in updating about Boston. There was lots to process and lots of photos to go through. I decided to break it up into days with 3 different posts. So here goes my first.
Marc and I arrived in Boston late Friday evening, April 12. It was smooth sailing (or flying :)) on the way there. I can’t say that for the way home!! I love this photo Marc took flying over.
On Saturday morning we hit the city. It was Marc’s first time in a subway, so that was exciting and it was crowded with the marathon. Skye and I stopped long enough for a photo.
Everyone was heading to the same place it seemed: The Expo on Boylston Street. On our way there we stopped for some photos at the finish line.
I was eager to get my marathon packet, so we started at the Expo first.
The expo was amazing with so many great booths and free samples!! In fact that’s where Skye, Marc and I ate lunch. It was crowded so it was hard to move around, which made it a little less enjoyable.
After the expo, we started our sight seeing. First with the beautiful cathedral on Boylston Street.
I love Boston, and it was Marc’s first trip to the East, so I wanted to impress him with the amazing history and culture. We started in the Boston Commons and Beacon Hill area.
I love how Skye and I moved out of the way for Marc to take this photo…worked out great. That’s George Washington, by the way, in Boston Commons.
Who wouldn’t want streets and sidewalks like these?!
Or window planters as such?!….I might copy this. They just might be runners 🙂
Or an apartment building like this?!: Don’t forget about Cheers. This place is always crowded.
Skye and I enjoyed being able to catch up. Since she moved to the East coast it’s been hard seeing each other, but she couldn’t have picked a better place to attend Grad school in my opinion.
Once again, I want these sidewalks!! Beacon Hill area is so beautiful. It’s probably one of my favorite parts of Boston. Cambridge tops the list!!
We visited Jamaica Planes, which is where we ate dinner that night at a great Thai restaurant. It’s a cute part of Boston, with some neat houses and stores. It was a long day of walking, which resulted in blisters. Should have brought better walking shoes. I paid for those blisters Marathon Monday and learned from my mistakes.
Marc and I loved all of it. It only made me want to move there even more!!
Stay tuned for more from Boston in the next couple days!! Oh and how do you like Boston thus far? Amazing, I know!!
