Hello friends!! If you missed my first post on our Boston trip, make sure you read it here. It has some amazing pictures of Boston.
Our second day in Boston, the day before the 117th Boston Marathon, Marc, Skye, and I visited Cambridge. If you go to Boston, you can’t leave without visiting Cambridge.
I love Cambridge for several reasons. Number One: Harvard.
The Harvard Library is huge, but sadly you can’t go inside it anymore, unless you’re a student.
This campus is beautiful. I have yet to see a prettier campus. I almost went to school here!! And every time I visit the campus, I rethink Law School, and then I eventually remember why I chose not to. But still it does something to ya.
Marc and I had to take pictures by the many entrances into the Harvard Campus.
We also stopped to see John Harvard, the founder of Boston. We needed to grab some Good Luck before the marathon.
It’s tradition to rub his gold toe for Good Luck.
In Cambridge there’s also lots of different stores and shops to visit. It’s a busy place and there’s always lots of people out and about. Cambridge is also famous for some great street performers. Sadly, we didn’t see any.
We stopped at the Only Curious George Store in the world to get my nephew a souvenir. I loved the store.
Marc and Skye were patiently waiting for me. 🙂 I was having way too much fun in the store.
We also stopped for some tea at Tea Luxe.  This place has some of the best Yerba I have ever tasted.
After a short tea break, and bathroom break from all the tea we shared, we visited some historic parts of Cambridge (really the whole Cambridge area is historic).
This church is famous for being the oldest church in Cambridge, where many presidents and their families attended. It survived many battles throughout history and has the bullet holes for proof.
It’s absolutely gorgeous inside!! And you can see where each different family sat, as there are name cards on the benches. So you could sit where Washington sat. How cool is that?!
We visited some battle ground as well, right across from the church.
We got to see the spot where Washington first took command:
It amazes me how they preserve all this and knew the exact spot. It’s so much fun to see it all. I almost felt as if I was going back in time to that very moment.
We saw the famous Lincoln not far from Washington’s first Command, not the real Abraham Lincoln 🙂 I wish!!
He’s one of my all time favorite presidents and it’s always easy to spot him.
We tried to not walk around as much to save my legs for the race, but were still able to see so much in Cambridge. We window shopped as well.
And then we called it a day. That night we ate at a great Italian Pizza and Pasta Place in Belmont, not far from Cambridge. It’s actually very close to where I stayed last year at Boston with my dad at our friend’s house. It was a day well spent.
Stay tuned for Day 3 in Boston: The 117th Boston Marathon!!
How did you like Cambridge??

I need to go to Boston with you! This looks like it was so much fun and so interesting! I think next year I will allow an extra day or two and see some sites. I love the Curious George store and rubbing Harvard’s gold toe… it worked!

Boston truly is amazing!! I love it there. You definitely need a couple extra days. Especially since you want to save your legs for the race. Next year you’ll have to do the after party at the House of Blues too.
