Ragnar CO Adventures: Meet the Team

September 16, 2013 Bryanna

Happy Monday!!

I am finally getting to the updates Ragnar CO, which by the way was amazingly awesome!! I am still trying to catch up on sleep, but with a wedding in 5 days…(OMG)….that’s not really happening. All last week I took it easy with running, because CO really did take a toll on my body. The elevation and heat zapped me, mixed with the lack of sleep and caloric intake, and I was a pooped bride to be.

Before I give a detailed race report, you have to meet the team that made this all possible!! The 5 amazing girls and van driver who made for a great second Bachelorette Party and racing experience. Without them, it wouldn’t have been the same. There wouldn’t have been team High Nuun!! These girls are amazing in so many ways. You want to meet 5 women and one amazing guy that are so giving, fun, and kind?….brace yourselfs!!

Holly:

#ShutTheFrontDoor enough said!! But seriously this girl is hilarious and so encouraging. You rarely ever hear her say anything negative (if at all). She is exemplifies the definition of TEAM. She makes running an ultra relay fun and doable. Relay’s are tough. When you’re running on little food and little sleep, throw in 3 extra legs and even less, if any, sleep, and its one of the toughest races you’ll ever do. Holly knows how to make it Fun. “Have fun. And if at any point you’re not having fun, have fun!!” That was her motto. It doesn’t matter how fast or how slow you run, or how many miles you’re doing, you’re apart of the team, and you serve a vital role. Holly will remind you of that.

Vieve:

#SelfiesAreCool….Okay so Vieve not only takes the most selfies of anyone I know, but she takes the cutest!! She is just darling. Vieve is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. She is the definition of tenderhearted and has amazing patience. Like Holly, she is positive and uplifting. Just being in her presence makes you happy. She kicked some butt out there, and I didn’t hear her complain about her legs once. Vieve has true grit. She has goals and is determined to meet them.

Meghan:

#WhenSweatDriesItDries….such truth!! She has some of the greatest words to live by. Meghan is honest and isn’t afraid to let you know how she is feeling. I love that about her. Meghan is determined!! Even when she’s had a crappy run, she doesn’t let it affect her next run. Lightning and ran, ain’t no thing for her. Nothing is stopping her from running her miles. It’s truly inspirational!! Meghan helps bring sanity back into your life, because after 30 some hours of no sleep and 39 miles, you need some sanity. She is a phenomenal runner.

Rebekah:

#I’llDoIt…..Our newest addition to the team. First lets just say you know she’s a keeper, when she’s crazy enough to run with strangers for her first ever relay. She fits right in. Patience, this girl has it!! (Maybe it’s because she’s a 3rd grade teacher) I have never met anyone who is so great at listening….even when it’s 3 in the morning and you’re not making any sense, Rebekah is listening. Rebekah loves challenges. Watching her tackle her legs and finish with a smile always made my runs feel so much less daunting.

Lisa:

#ILoveRunningInTheDark: It’s evident she has a passion for running and isn’t intimidated by the age of all the other teammates or the adverse running conditions. She held her own, and was a vital part of the team. Lisa kicked butt in her legs, and is an example of how at any age anything is possible. You could always find her making friends with all the other teams and being so inviting. She is a definite people person, and loves to share her passion for running with others. Lisa is a strong runner.

Ned:

#LikeABoss: Ned is our amazing van driver. He was crazy enough to say yes to driving us again. We made have had some close calls, but he drove that van #LikeABoss. He encourages all team members and made sure we never missed an exchange. I think he’s one of our biggest fans and supporters. Ned brags about all his runners. He is also great with cheering all the other teams on as well, even to the point of scaring them half to death with his honking during the night runs. He also served as a great photographer. Without him, team High Nuun would be peanut M&Mless, honkless, and close call-less.

Now you’ve met the amazing team. Words can’t express how fun each member made the experience!! It was an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything!!

Stay tuned, there’s more to come on team High Nuuns Ragnar CO adventures!! (We haven’t even got to the running part yet)

#howembarrassing #thoseselfiesweresupposedtobeprivate #whathappensinthevanstaysinthevan Haha. Dear heavens — Between you and Holly I’ll never hear the end of the selfies 😉 I didn’t take THAT many 😉 And a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do to capture the moment.

Honestly, though, I love you girls feel comfortable enough to make fun of me. #keepitup

    Sincerely,
