Apples and Football Make for a Great Fall

October 6, 2013 Bryanna

Hi Friends!!

Marc and I have been married for two weeks now. Time is flying by. I started my new job on Monday at Gonzaga University, so I have been busy with training. The new job has left me in a brain fog most days, mix that with my master classes and life has been a whirlwind. The new job has been fun though and I love the people I work with.

I am the new Program Assistant in Special Education at Gonzaga. It was weird being back on campus, but as a employee not a student this time. So much has changed.

It was a rainy weekend last weekend, so I had fun playing games with my sister, brother-in-love and nephew and drinking hot cocoa.

Marc and I have seemed to keep ourselves just as busy. Last weekend we spent our Sunday picking apples and enjoying fresh baked cinnamon rolls.

We picked some plums as well.

All the apples kept me busy making applesauce. I made a sugar free applesauce and a raw applesauce. I will be sure to post the recipes soon.

I made a stew and some potato leek soup as well this past week. I will be posting those recipes sometime this week. There’s nothing better than soup in the fall.

On Saturday Marc and I went to Missoula, MT with my sister Cassie and brother-in-love Josiah and little Micah. We had tickets to a Griz game.

Griz football is huge in Montana and the games are lots of fun.

I haven’t been to a Griz game for nearly 3 years and I forgot how loud that stadium can get. It’s one of the reasons it’s so hard for other teams to win when the play Montana on their home field.

It was a day trip so we spent some time driving but it was well worth it. The weather was perfect for a football game. And of course the Griz won, beating Portland State. Sadly we didn’t win the split the pot. 🙁

We met my mom for dinner (she couldn’t miss an opportunity to see her grandchild).

And we headed back to Spokane. Marc and I spent our Sunday enjoying each other’s company and celebrating his sister’s birthday. Now we are watching our first movie as a married couple. I love being able to say we are married.

We have a 1/2 marathon next Sunday here in Spokane, so we have been getting up early to run together before work. It’s definitely getting cooler and cooler here in the inland northwest. The morning runs are chillier and darker.

Hope you are all enjoying the fall season!!
