My Favorites from November

November 30, 2013 Bryanna

Happy Last day of November!!

Jeepers I can’t believe the month is over. The last day of November means two things, it’s Marc’s birthday and Christmas is less than a month of away!! I have already started the Christmas shopping. Marc and I have 7 nieces and nephews to spoil!!

I wanted to end the month highlighting my favorites from November. It seemed like a busy month with lots of to-do lists and tasks to finish, but in the midst of all the running around, I was still able to stop long enough to enjoy some “me” time and time with my hubby.

1. Fall Colors:

leaves

I love watching the leaves change colors. Fall came fast in the Inland Northwest. After Marc and I got back from Jamaica, the leaves had all changed and there was a definite chill in the air.

Running during the Fall is one of my favorite times of year to run. I also enjoy walks through the many great parks in the area.

2. New Camera:

Okay so the new camera is really Marc’s (it was his birthday gift), but I have been enjoying using it. It takes way better pictures than my iPhone. It’s great to just take random photos of nothing in particular that turn out great.

And it has helped to make my food that much more appealing…..

And it’s fun to take on walks at the park

3. Thanksgiving:

I love being with family during the Holiday season. It is always great to enjoy others company, and it gives me an excuse to make lots of goodies. With the holidays I now have places to take all my baked goods, so they aren’t left at our house for us to devour. However, I do also leave enough for us to enjoy. 😉

It was also a time to really be grateful for all that I do have!! Although, it’s something we should do everyday, it rarely ever happens.

4. My New Brooks Nightlife Jacket:

Okay this has been amazing. With the number of daylight hours slowly dwindling, it seems I only run in the dark, unless it’s a weekend. So visibility is an issue. I love being able to layer with this jacket, and not having to worry about throwing on a reflective vest.

This reflective jacket does it all: keeps me visible, protects from the elements, and is stylish. Okay that turned into a promotional ad.

5. Marc’s Birthday

I take birthdays very seriously. To me it’s not just another day, it’s YOUR day!! It only happens once a year, and it’s a day to truly celebrate you!! Without birthdays we wouldn’t have a day to celebrate our life, and living is something to celebrate. Birthdays aren’t going to happen forever, so I find them important to ALWAYS celebrate, whether it’s small or big. Recognizing others on their day is respectful and shows how much you value others.

(A birthday omelet for the birthday boy before work, please excuse the messy table!!)

A birthday recognizes the day you came into existence!! And that’s an important day. We were fearfully and wonderfully made, and we need to celebrate the miracle that we are!!

(I surprised Marc at work with his cake and dinner)

Sorry for the soapbox!! It’s a tradition in my family, and so now it’s moving into OUR family that the birthday boy/girl gets to chose their dinner and cake. Marc loves his potatoes so that’s what I brought to his work (sadly he had to work on this special day). I also made him a Coconut Cheesecake, as per his request. The first year we dated I made him two cakes, Carrot and the Coconut Cheesecake. He decided this year he really wanted “that cheesecake you made the first year we dated.”

So this turned into a recipe for you all!! I had no idea how I did it the first time, but this is what I came up with. I am getting better about writing them down though, now that I have a blog. Try this easy Coconut Cheesecake with a macaroon cookie crust!!

We are know heading to Catching Fire, not that Marc’s off work. Tomorrow we are getting our first Christmas Tree!! Yea, I am so excited!! And we will celebrate Marc’s birthday even more!! Love it……

Until next time Be Whole and Be Fit!!
