Spartan Race Giveaway

May 9, 2014 Bryanna

TGIF!!

I thought I would end the week and start the weekend with a great giveaway.

Spartan race reached out to me and offered a free race entry for any Spartan race in the USA for one of my followers. While I have never done a Spartan race, although Ragnar Zion was pretty darn close, I have heard lots about how fun, yet intense they are.

You are going to like the race if you are up for a challenge, obstacles and getting dirty, because it’s guaranteed you’ll get dirty. I would also bring an adventurous attitude as well!! ; )

These types of races are becoming quite popular among runners and nonrunners alike. People who don’t like to run, love doing a race like these. I have family members that are dying to do a Spartan race, and who would plan a whole vacation around the race just to do it.

Spartan race is designed to get you out of your comfort zone and the normal. It’s an adventure racing event. These events test your strength, stamina and sense of humor. It’s designed to take us back to our “roots” of running through woods and getting dirty.

The race distances range anywhere from 3+ miles to 26+ miles, including obstacles. They offer races for every level of fitness. The “Spartan Sprint” is just over 3 miles, the “Super Spartan” is just over 8, and the “Spartan Beast” is just over 10 -12 miles, and the extreme level labeled the “Death Race” is a full  marathon. It’s not just running strength required folks!!

All races offer their different level of obstacles (anywhere from 15-20 different obstacles) to overcome, which are sure to leave you dirty and muddy, feeling a little stronger, and leaving you with a sense of achievement. There’s no denying they are intense and difficult, but runners are always up for the challenge right?!

All finishers get their finisher tees, medals and a free beer. Also, finishers get to be part of the music and food vendors too!! We know we love food and some of us love beer after races.

If you want more information check out these videos:

Spartan is offering a free race entry to one of my followers. It’s good for any race in the U.S. You can enter below.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

For those of you can’t wait to see if you win or if you don’t win, Spartan gave me a 15% of code for those who are interested in still doing a race. You can access the code here. It’s good for any Spartan Race and there’s races all over the U.S. to chose from.

So are you up for the Spartan challenge? Are you ready to test yourself in a whole new way?

If I wasn’t prego I would highly consider doing one this summer. I am always up for a challenge.

I will be notifying the winner next weekend or on Monday the 19th, as I will be out of town for the Portland Rock’n’Roll half marathon. Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Are these types of races your thing? Would you rather just run? Have you ever run a Spartan Race?

To be honest, I have never thought of entering anything other than plan old running races and relays, but Bry, you’ve sold me, this looks like it actually might be kind of fun in an adventure type of way. I keep saying I am getting bored with road races– this might be the answer. The 26 distance would be fun as a relay– not sure if they do that but it’d be a great time!

I want to run a Spartan race because I missed it last year. I do not intend to let that happen again this time around…

I want to try out a Spartan race for something else challenging and fun to do. The thought of being tired out by all of the strength obstacles and still having to complete the running portions is a very alluring challenge!

I use to love running but that started to get a little boring. These obstacle races keep things different and interesting

I’d love to join my daughter at a Sprint and try to finish just to say I did one regardless of the bionic parts.
