As a marathon runner, I jumped on the compression sock band wagon. For years I avoided them, because I didn’t think they lived up to all the hype. After I tried them for the first time on my first ultra Ragnar Relay, all the hype wasn’t just a hype.
There are many different great compression socks on the market today, many with the same color’s and plain designs. Sometimes you just want a little more sass in your run, or at least I do. It’s rare to find compression socks with a fun design, and then I was introduced to Lily Trotters, a new company.
Lily Trotters compression socks are made just for women. They offer great colors, feminine designs, and are easy to get on and off. I was sent a free pair to try, and was glad I accepted the offer. Most compression socks can be tricky to put on, but these went on with ease. They even kept me tight and ready for my long run the next morning.
What I love most about Lily Trotters, is their thin fabric on the bottom of the sock, allowing them to be easily worn with other shoes and even heels. They have a softer material compared to other compression socks, which is a nice change. I love the cushioned heels, which are lacking in other compression socks. Oh and they are just FUN!! They put a little pep in my step and they keep me comfy while breast feeding 😉
Lily Trotters are 100% micro nylon weave, which allows for an easy on and off, and they are breathable. I love to wear them the night before a long run or for post run recovery, but they are great on the run as well. They are moisture wicking, and the cushioned heel makes them super comfy to run in. I love that they are breathable, especially for wearing at night before my long runs. It can get toasty during the summer months, and I don’t have to worry about sweaty, stinky feet.
I love the playful frills on the top and the fun colors. Sometimes it’s nice to have a sock that can function as running apparel but also everyday apparel. They do double duty. It’s great having a sock I can wear at work and when I hit the gym or street without having to change into another pair. Forgot your running socks….ain’t no thing, not with Lily Trotters. Function as a marathon sock and as a fun, colorful need to run errands sock.
I didn’t think they would function as a compression sock the way I wanted them to, because of the material and how easy they were to slip on, but surprisingly they still keep you tight. But not too tight. They hold up nicely too. I wash with my other running apparel and hang dry, and they are still functioning like new. And even better, they are made in the USA. Always great keeping the money here.
