What a great weekend we all had celebrating R’s first birthday. It was great having her cousins, aunts and uncles, great aunts and great uncles, great grandparents, friends and Nana and Papa on my side of the family celebrating with her. I think she has a love/hate relationship with be groups of people. She loves people and loves to be the center of attention, but she also gets overwhelmed if I am not in sight or holding her.
I thought I would hare some photos from the fun we had this past weekend at R’s birthday party. It was a full house. We have another party planned for this weekend as well so we can celebrate with her Washington friends and family. I don’t think R new it was her birthday, but she did enjoy cake and new toys to play with, especially her new baby dolls. She is already so attached to them.
Pictures from R’s First Birthday
The weather was perfect for her party!! It was great for keeping the kiddos busy outside. I made some Vegan Butternut Squash Chili and my mom made a white chili. We also had my homemade Vegan Chocolate Mini Cakes (completely sugar free, as I ommitted the maple syrup), Vegan Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Cupcakes, which I will be sharing the recipe for soon, and a quinoa salad.
R really didn’t go crazy over the cake like most one year old’s do. I don’t know maybe because there was no added sugar in the cake, or because she’s never had sugar. Still looked adorable.
Nana & Papa Love
I did most of the gift opening. R was more into the dolls and watching.
Trying to get 4 kids to all smile at the same time, results in the above picture
Loving on the new baby in the family (gave me baby fever majorly)
And then we enjoyed some park time on R’s actual birthday, because she loves being outside. Sneak peek of some of her 1 year photos!!
For the most part this was a wordless post. Hope you all enjoy your weekend. I do have to say I am enjoying the crisp weather for running. Fall is one of my favorite seasons for running. I have been doing easy runs with my cross country, and hope to give my leg a rest after the cross country season is over in a few weeks. For now I am running very low miles, which is killing me. I am already feeling antsy, stressed, and easily irritated now that I only run 20-30 miles a week. I need my miles back. 😉
However, I also know that it’s important I rest and recover as well so as to not injure any other part of my body and so I can run to my full potential. Such is the life of the runner.
Until Next Time Be Whole and Be Fit
Any plans for the weekend? What was your favorite part of your child’s first birthday party?Â
