I don’t do monthly updates any more for R and won’t continue to do so. Instead I will stick to the major milestones and then every 3 or so months.
R is already 15 months. One year ago she was only 3 months and that seems crazy to me. It’s hard to even remember what that was like. Now I have a toddler on my hands and it’s a whole no ball game with lots of curve balls.
R,
Here we are again!! You’re 15 months. It seems that the 3 month span from your 1 year birthday has brought many changes and new adventures. You no longer spend your days butt scooting around or crawling. You walk quickly everywhere!! It’s a whole new level of interesting now.
You started to really walk after Christmas. You were walking a little before Christmas, when you took your first steps by yourself. But it was like you wanted to go back to crawling, like you didn’t want to give it up quite yet. I thought we’d have a walker for sure before Christmas, but you’re always full of surprises.
After Christmas you went for it, as I made you walk to me if you wanted to be held or have a toy or book. Soon you were off and you haven’t looked back. It means lots of new messes and craziness for sure.
You still sleep like a champ, and are sleeping in later now. Usually up around 6:30-7 am or later. Down by 7:30, and we transitioned to only one nap a day now. Typically in the afternoon for 2-3 hours.
You eat!! Boy do you eat. Everyone says you eat like I ate as a child, but yet I couldn’t gain weight. Your the same way. I can’t feed you enough, and yet at your 15 month checkup you hadn’t gained much weight. You are in the 34th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. You’re almost taller than your cousin. All legs.
I feed you while making dinner and then again for dinner, and then again when I am eating dinner. You are now doing almond milk during the day, and nurse still in the morning and at night.
You are in love with your books, stuffed dog and baby dolls. You are commonly seen caring them around or pushing them in the shopping cart. You love reading books and if I can’t find you, that’s the first place I look. You rather read a book than watch TV or movies. We don’t do TV at our house, and it’s never interested you. I like it that way.
Still wearing 12-18 month clothing, and only size 3 in shoes. Some long legs, but small dainty feet.
You love being outside and love the snow. We did sledding and snowmobiling and it was your favorite. You didn’t want to go inside. Even down some steep, fast hills you were loving it and I was squealing like a little girl. You only had a big, “let’s go again grin.”
You also love animals. Papa and dad took you to feed the cows over Christmas and you loved it!! You loved seeing the cows and horses and love your uncles dogs. You can even say Fancy, the dogs name and point her out in pictures.
You love to say “Hi” and wave hi and wave bye. You know the dog says “woof woof” and the cow “moo moo.” Now we are working on other animals. You say “that” and point whenever you want a toy or food. You say “love you,” “uh oh” and “thank you.”
You love giving your cousins and family hugs. It’s the cutest thing. You also love your cousins. You know how to feed your baby and buckle her up. You say “mmm” whenever you are feeding yourself or pretending to drink from your tea set. You love feeding dad and mom to.
Bath time is a favorite. You love splashing and playing with your bath toys. Once we start the water, you can’t wait to get in. We wear pony tails and pig tails as your hair is growing longer. Maybe we will do curlers soon.
You have 6 teeth and 3 more coming. You love trying to dress yourself and you take all your clothes out of your drawers (and mom’s too), and try to put your shoes on too. Also, you try combing your hair. And you love taking things out cupboards and putting them back in. And throwing things.
You seem to learn new things on a daily basis. I can tell you are a fast learner. You even talk on my iPhone and love facetiming your Nana and Papa in Montana. Sometimes when Nana just calls me, you insist on having the phone and we eventually have to Facetime so you can see her.
Love you baby girl and excited to see what the next 3 months bring. Love, Mom
Have a great weekend ya’ll!!
Until next time Be Whole and Be Fit
