2 Year Update

October 31, 2016 Bryanna

I realized I haven’t blogged for a week!! I am sorry. We have been so busy, as if you haven’t heard that phrase before, the past week. My cross country season is coming to a close next weekend, and Thursday we had super Regionals in Seattle. I was traveling the past few days and then attended a church conference through the weekend.

For some reason the week was crazy and I didn’t have time to sit down and blog, One of those weeks. I had to keep my priorities my priorities for the week.

With that being said, R had her second birthday party a week or so ago, and turned 2 a few weeks ago. I can’t believe it!! She is growing up too fast. I’ll keep her update short and sweet, mainly for the sake of my time, and because I have to start on LJ’s update!! These kids need to stop growing.

“R,

First we would like to say how much we love!! You have already grown into a kid it seems, and at times seemed to have skipped the toddler stage. You enjoy talking and singing, and have new words to share with us on a daily basis. Dad and I will have to watch what we are saying in front of you 😉

You are learning your “A, B, C’s” and counting to six all by yourself. I don’t know where the 6 came from, but you did it all by yourself. I think you are learning that you are 2 years old and love to point out who everyone is. You can call most anyone that you know by name and even helped cheer for my XC team, calling some of the girls by name.

I love that you still love to sleep and are still taking naps. Some days those naps are shorter than I would like and some days there are no naps at all. You are in bed between 7:30-8:30 every night, and we have a bedtime routine of bath time (a few days a week), teeth brushing, book reading, bible reading, prayers and then “mom sing.” Some nights this routine is a long one, but I love that you don’t want to miss out on mommy singing or praying.

Most nights you sleep for 11-12 hours, not waking up until 7 a.m. or a little after, and then a 1-4 hour nap. Thank you for loving sleep!! 19th-reagan

When it comes to eating, you’ll eat anything and are doing such a great job of feeding yourself. You are great at using a big girl cup and fork and spoon. You don’t like to be helped when eating and always want to do it “by myself.” A very independent little girl you are becoming. You like to do a lot of things by yourself, from buckling your seat belt to opening doors or throwing away your pull-ups.

You love koombucha and tea, and if mom or dad has a coffee you have to have a drink too. You love mom’s smoothie and dad’s eggs. There isn’t much you won’t eat.

Your favorite toys are puzzles and baby dolls. Now you have a lot of accessories for those dolls and you play mom all day long. You mimic everything I do, from feeding your brother to burping him to cleaning around the house. You have become a big help, picking up your toys, putting away your dirty laundry, throwing garbage out, bringing your plate to the kitchen and helping grab things while I nurse your little brother. You also help feed our new dog Manu everyday too.

Coloring has become a new thing as well the past few months. And thankfully you aren’t as impressed with TV or movies, you don’t last more than 15 minutes, and only have screen time when at Auntie Cassie’s house, because I don’t allow it.

You are in the toddler bed, but I think you are already ready for a big girl bed, because you love sleeping in your cousins. R you are in 2T clothes, but some are still bigger on you. You are in the 20th percentile for weight and 70th percentile for eighth. Your hair is getting thicker and longer everyday, and we have done curlers now too. You love to have curlers in. You are a mix of a girly girl to a tom boy, and you love to wrestle with your cousins and get dirty, while liking to look “pretty” too. But pretty is fierce, and that you are.

Thanks for helping with your little brother and around the house. Thank you for the joy you bring me and for making me be a better mom. There’s so much I could say!! You have changed so much in the past year. You are smart, you are brave, your are beautiful, you are confident and you are love!!

Love, MOM”
