DARE YOU…..

April 5, 2017 Bryanna

I have been looking back over the years of blogging. I have successfully, or maybe not as successfully as others, made it 4 years, which has seemed to cruise by. In those four years, I was married, had our first child, received my Masters in Nutrition, ran loads of miles, received my run coach certification, started coaching high school cross country, created numerous healthy & yummy recipes, ran some more miles, bought our first home, had another child and have increased my clientele.

It’s been a whirlwind. With that all being said, I have also never really taken a break from social media. I would have posts lined up for when baby’s were close to being born or when I would go on vacation. Or I would blog right through vacation. So I have decided that I am going on a much needed vacation from blogging and from social media. No Instagram updates, Facebook or Twitter. Just me, myself and my family and running of course.

When I check back in I’ll have some fun recipes planned (like those sneak peeks you saw on Instagram) and a race recap, as well as some fun planned for May. I also have decided to do less updates on my children. I want to keep there lives private, so you’ll see occasional photos but no more monthly updates. You’ll even see less of them on my social media platforms. I created a private account for my family to enjoy pictures of my kids. I realize we’re all “family” but in today’s culture, I want to have some privacy of my family’s life. So my Instagram account will be mostly pictures of me, running, health, etc.

So I am daring you……

Daring you to put down the phone and tablets and breathe a little more, take it all in…the family and friends. Spend more face to face time with your kids. Have conversations without staring at a phone. I have been horrible with this lately, and I decided it was enough.

Daring you to rest and relax. Take a mini-vacation from it all. Enjoy some “me” time. Ditch the social media for a bit. Just be present.

Daring you to write your dreams and goals. Journal more about what you want in life, where you want to go, what your dreams are, and how you’re going to achieve them.

Daring you to start a new book. An actual, book with paper and a spine. Enjoy it, devour it.

Daring you to get outside. Go explore with just you or the family. Try new trails or even new places downtown. Walk around the neighborhood or new parks. Just get OUT!!

Daring you to skip the schedules…..go without a plan on some days. Yes, even I try this.

Daring you to slow down….stop and smell the roses. Stop rushing everywhere. Press pause!!

I’ll see you in 1-2 weeks, probably after Easter. Until then you can read through old posts you may have missed, or just spend more time with your family, Jesus and YOU!!

I’ll be enjoying my family, catching up on chores I have been putting off, getting the garden and yard ready, and hopefully cleaning up house behind the scenes of the blog. You may have a post from my sister while I’m away.

For now, I will be doing all that I am daring you to do. Free of a schedule, or maybe a more lax schedule, because you all know how OCD I am and planned (I had to plan this mini-vacation, pencil it in), and just being present with my family. Enjoying life without the pressure of constantly updating my social media platforms and coming up with content for the blog.

This break will help me to have new fresh content, and feel less stressed about my work. #presspause #dareyou

So Until Next Time Be Whole, Be Fit, and BE WILLING TO DARE YOURSELF…….

What’s one thing you are daring me to do?
