Happy Tuesday Morning Wake Up –
Well at least for some of you it is still in the morning hours, for others it is afternoon. I, Mariah, wanted to share my resolutions for 2019.
2019 is underway, and I am just writing out my resolution. Although I am late, I still have 357 days to live out my resolution. Overall, 2018 was an accomplished year for me. I qualified for Nationals and passed the California Bar Exam, which is considered the most difficult bar exam. But even though I accomplished several key goals in 2018, there is much room for improvement. As I reflect on the prior year and how I can improve 2019, discipline and purpose stick out.
In order to accomplish my 2019 goals, I will need to live out a disciplined life. I plan on running a half marathon in March and then training for Nationals, which is in August. To make Team USA at Nationals, I need to shave off about 5-10 minutes, which is an achievable goal but hindered by work. I started my first job as an attorney in December and have been swamped with litigation, legal research, and client intake. My schedule is jam-packed with work, which means the little time I do have left in the day will be spent training.
Although I have been able to juggle school and training for the last couple of years, the real world requires much more discipline. In school, I often got distracted by the beach or friends. I could afford to deviate from my schedule or daily tasks. My days seem to go by faster now, and I have less time for those “extracurricular activities.” I have to stick to a rigid schedule.
In 2019 I also intend to live out a more purpose-driven life. In 2018, I frequently departed from my God-given purpose, which is to serve God and others with my talents, skills, and passions. Instead, I was motivated by glory, the praise of man, and wealth because I thought that is what would make me more secure and happy. Nonetheless, these passions only provide temporary happiness and do not bring long-term fulfillment.
In 2019, I want to wake up every morning committing my works unto the lord. I want to use my God-given talents to encourage and inspire others. Instead of building a legacy for myself, I want to bring glory to God. Ultimately, one day I will box up all my trophies, medals, and awards. The seeds I plant in other people’s lives will last forever.
So we want to hear from you, what are your goals / resolutions or if you’re like Bryanna, your word(s) for 2019?
Until Next Time Be Whole and Be Fit

That’s awesome! I think it is a good idea to write out your goals. I find when I write them out, it is easier to follow.
