Mariah’s Favorite Smoothies

March 7, 2019 Bryanna

Thursday Talk it Out with Mariah –

I can’t believe it is only Thursday. This week is dragging along. Earlier last week, I found out that a dear family friend passed away from cancer. I have been busy helping prepare for the funeral and spending my time with family, thus this blog post will be short.

In my last blog post (here), I posted two of my favorite breakfast recipes. I also promised I would provide my favorite smoothies in the next post. My sister has so many great smoothies to choose from on the blog. It was tough for me to choose from a wide variety of options, but I managed to choose two of my favorite smoothies.

The Matcha Green Tea Smoothie is my go-to smoothie. I usually drink this smoothie right after my run in the morning. It calls for one banana, an avocado, almond milk, frozen blueberries, Matcha green tea powder, protein powder, and spinach. I add two scoops of protein because I need the extra protein to restore my muscles. If you are an athlete, I suggest adding two scoops. This too will save you money so you don’t have to make your Starbucks run for a Matcha Latte (my pitfall 😉 ).

This smoothie is an ideal choice for athletes because it is easy and simple to make and provides a high nutritional content. Avocados, blueberries, and matcha green tea are all superfoods that help recharge your body after a hard workout. I sometimes add maca powder which provides a great flavor and boosts sports performance and energy.

When I am desiring a light smoothie, I usually choose the Blueberry Coconut Smoothie. This smoothie calls for cucumbers, bananas, coconut water, flaxseed, and blueberries. It is a nutrient-rich recipe that offers a sweet flavor. You can add protein powder if you are looking for extra energy. On my Instagram page, I provide a short recipe video including both the Blueberry Coconut Smoothie and Spinach Blender Pancakes last week.

I will be on Instagram today for a Q & A – ask any questions related or nonrelated to this post. We love to engage with our readers!!

Let me know if you try these smoothies and make sure to check out the other options here.
