Happy Wednesday!!
Summer has hit the inland northwest before Spring even had a chance to shine. It’s been in the 80s for almost a week now. That’s way hot for the Northwest. I am not complaining, I just wasn’t prepared for the heat.
I decided to do some hill repeats in the scorching heat after I got off work this afternoon. It was 82 degrees when I started them, but so worth it.
I am feeling overwhelmed with school, planning a wedding, planning my sister-in-loves bridal shower (yes my little brother is getting married a month and a half before me, can you say crazy summer 🙂 ), and then work, so I did what I do best: When in doubt sweat it out. Scorching hot or freezing cold, it doesn’t matter, sweating it out is a great fix all!!
Those hill repeats were tough though, not going to lie. I had to pick a hill with absolutely no shade. It was my first set of hill repeats since training for Boston. I have a week and a half until the Windermere Marathon, so I wanted to do some strengthening work, thus the hills.
Surprisingly, I had no knee pain at all. I have ran three days in a row without any nagging pain. I don’t know if it’s the fact I practically sleep with my foam roller and ice cup or I just don’t notice the pain anymore, but no knee pain for three days is a record!! No complaints there. I am still going to foam roll and ice like crazy.
As you are all aware, I was offered to run on the Nuun Hydration’s Ragnar Relay team for the  Wastach Back Utah race….
Well it’s official now, Utah here I come!! Big thanks to Lisa from runwiki who made it all possible. I can’t wait. I fly out June 19th and come back June 22nd. It’s a short trip but it’s going to be an amazing experience with opportunities to meet some great women who share my passion for running. There are 5 other girls on the team, and we will each run 6 different legs covering 200 miles starting in Logan going to Park City. I will definitely keep you all posted on the details. I am sure a great blog post will be inspired from the race. 🙂
Has anyone ran a Ragnar race? Any tips?
