Good Monday Friends!!
I hope your Father’s Day weekend was well spent. As you know I made a fast trip home for the weekend for engagement photos and for a bridal shower.
The highlight of my trip was seeing my family!! They are amazing. Marc and I spent most of the day driving on Friday. We couldn’t leave until later afternoon so it was a late trip. Poor Marc had to listen to me sing 80’s music almost the entire trip home. When I wasn’t singing I was trying to finish my reading for my classes. I am sure he was relieved when we finally made it to my parent’s house.
We stayed up late visiting with my parents and then woke up early for our engagement photos. I am excited to see them. Judging from the quick shots I saw on the camera they will be great!! I did manage to step in a huge pile of fresh cow poop with my sandals on during the photo shoot. Thank goodness for the freezing creek nearby to wash off.
I enjoyed helping with the bridal shower for my future sister-in-love, Megan, and I hope she enjoyed it!! It was great to see family and friends again.
My sister, mom and I grabbed a photo at the shower.
The guys went golfing while we were at the shower, and then Marc and I went to my brother’s house so he could show us his garden. He is pretty proud of it. I love that he wanted a garden and actually does all the work.
He had to show me what row was what.
His potato plants reminded me of scarecrows from far away. To be honest, I thought they were a poor attempt at scarecrows, but Josh made sure to set me straight.
The area around my brother’s house is gorgeous.
I love how he lives so close to my parents (only a mile up the road).
Most of the cows are in the summer pasture, and the only animals left at my brothers were his girlfriends horse and his dog.
Sunday after church Marc and I headed home. We did manage to do a quick brunch with my grandparents and parents. The weather was perfect while we were home and it made it hard to be stuck driving.
Marc and I stopped at one of my favorite health food stores on the way back to grab a few things.
It’s not a trip home without a stop at the Good Food Store. That place is amazing!!
Now I am mentally preparing for my race this week and trying to finish the packing. I can’t believe it’s already here.
What was the highlight of your weekend?
