Hello friends!! As you all know I recently did Ragnar Relay, Wasatch Back Utah. I don’t even know where to begin. It was such a life changing experience for me.
First, I have to start with the wonderful ladies I met on this trip, who became my great running partners and great friends.
I also need to give a huge thanks to Nuun Hydration for letting me be apart of their team and sponsoring our team. I love their products. It got me through nearly 38 miles of intense running at elevation.
Yes, I hadn’t met any of these girls before last Wednesday. Crazy right?! We got that a lot. I felt like I knew the girls from reading their blogs and cyber stalking them. 😉 Each one has a unique personality and is inspiring in their own way.
Lisa M., I have “known” the longest, as I have been reading her blog since I started mine in March. She is amazing!! I love how real and honest she always is. Lisa encouraged all of us throughout the race and acted so much like my mom (in a good way). She just cared so much about all of us. Lisa was the one who asked me to be on the team.
Lisa G., always had a story and wasn’t shy. She has been running for years and had little tips and pointers to give, which helped. Lisa G. worked so hard and tackled a big hill with a smile. She is wise and knows how to have fun.
Genevieve (Vieve) was spunky. I don’t know why I chose that word to describe her, but she definitely was a bad A. She has a great personality and has done some really cool races. I loved hearing her opinion on certain subjects (ones that probably don’t need to be repeated) and loved how she was down for whatever.
Meghan was speedy. She worked so hard and even rocked some tough legs while experiencing GI issues and cramping. If that’s not motivating and inspiring, I don’t know what is. She also loves to photo bomb everyone’s photos. 🙂 I loved her passion for running and her determination to finish.
Holly!! Oh Holly. I think we can all agree she was just plain hilarious and FUN. She didn’t sleep a wink and never complained. She was the responsible one, navigating for us and bringing laughter. She is easy going and not shy at all. I think she made friends with all the teams, nonchalantly asking when they started and if they were an ultra team (we really wanted to win, so we needed to know).
Then there’s Ned, our amazing driver. Honestly, I have never met anyone as sweet. He drove the entire way, listening to our inappropriate conversations at times, and dealing with our stench. He was always in awe of all of us when we finished a leg and he honestly treated us like we were superstars.
Now for the adventure!! All of us, except for Vieve (who lives in Salt Lake) arrived in Salt Lake City on Wednesday. We stayed at some guys house (a friend of Holly’s) Wednesday and Friday night. The house was gorgeous and had some amazing views.
Once again staying with 5 other random people at some strangers house. It’s normal right?! I wouldn’t have traded the experience for anything!!
After dinner, where Meghan and I ordered way to much food (and we ate almost all of it), we starting decorating the van.
Teams can win prizes for the best decorated van, and ours was rockin. It should have won.
Lisa M. did almost all of the work. She is amazing.
Meghan made some awesome Nuun lights for our night time legs.
And I was only talented in writing our twitter names (which was probably a little more than I could handle).
After a sleepless night we were ready to hit the road and begin our two day adventure in the mountains of Utah. We arrived in Logan and our lives would never be the same…….
Stay tuned for more on our Adventures in Wasatch Back Utah (I couldn’t possibly write just one post. No Way!!)

We are all so normal, right? It is kinda crazy… what we all just did. And that’s NOT including running 200 miles as a team. I was just talking about the other stuff you pointed out — not knowing each other, staying at a stranger’s house.
And you’re description of me cracked me up. Spunky. I love it!
