And the countdown begins. I thought I had already had my 36 week update, but I was a week off until I saw my doctor. I think I have been messed up so much lately and I am blaming it on the pregnancy brain. The last month of pregnancy, which is the worst month.
You are tired and anxious to meet the new baby. I am trying to get rest, which grows harder as it’s uncomfortable to sleep. Things are starting to look up health wise though. I have minimal pain if I don’t over due it and I don’t walk too much throughout the day. It’s nice being able to go on walks now though.
My body is beginning to heal and I am confident it will be ready for delivery in a few weeks.
Gender: Boy
Symptoms: The back pain is much better. The PT and chiropractor have helped immensely with this. Now I am just more nauseous, tired and have a lot of pelvic pressure. My ribs are achy from the babies kicks and jabs, as he runs out of room in my womb. I had this same problem with R though too, and had bruised ribs by the end of the pregnancy. It makes sleeping and bending over fun. I have varicose veins on my right calf, that just arrived at 28 weeks. One morning I woke up and they were they. They are painful during the night and lots of cramping in my calves. I am hoping they will go away. I wear compression socks most nights to help with the cramping.
Baby is breech and sitting very low. At 37 weeks we will try to turn baby.
Maternity Clothes: None just wearing a size up in basically everything or wearing my regular pre-pregnancy clothes.
Baby size: The baby is measuring great according to the doctor and should be over 5 pounds now or more and is 18-19 inches long. The head is average and I am hoping it stays that way. R had a bigger head.
Belly Button: outie
Stretch Marks: none
Sleep: It is what it is. I am sleeping a little better now that the pain is much more bearable. I have to sleep on the left side, so my ribs don’t feel worse. I can’t sleep on my back for long or my right side. If I do, I wake up very sore and in pain. It still takes a while to roll out of bed, but getting faster. I think for my next pregnancy I will invest in the pregnancy pillow.
Miss Anything: Running, but I am thankful I am can walk more now and almost normal. I might try running if the pain gets better, but not long distances, because of the pressure of baby on my pelivs and pubic bone. I also miss a flat stomach, only because the bump growing means more rib pain.
Cravings: Chocolate and sweets. I have my dark chocolate, a little square every night, but I have been holding off the sweets unless I make some goodies. Occasionally I have a bite of ice cream.
Aversions: Still have a very small appetite, and nothing I make for dinner ever sounds good. I have been eating light, but trying to eat often since I am not gaining weight. The good thing is that baby is gaining and healthy, but mama isn’t able to pack on much for pounds. Been incorporating a lot of healthy fats.
Looking Forward to: Walking normal, running again without pain and holding my little man.
What I am Loving: Feeling the little guy move.
Workouts: It’s been almost 4 weeks since I have ran because of my nerve damage, sciatic pain and my glute muscles not firing. The PT and chiropractor are helping with this. I am doing the bike, ellipitcal, walking and focusing on weight training and core. My pubic bone isn’t sticking out as far any more (it was protruding), which has made working out easier now and not as much pain.
Hope you all have a great weekend!!
