Happy Wednesday!!
I can’t believe it’s already May, where did April go?! That means there’s only 143 more day’s until my wedding or less than 21 weeks!! I just wanted to check in and share the events of the past couple of days.
I had my parents and aunts in town for my nephew, Micah’s, first birthday party. He turned 1 on April 23rd.
This is us on his birthday.
He’s the first grandchild so he is so spoiled, but we love him to pieces. I was in charge of making him his cake and Cassie chose chocolate cake. Micah seems to love my baking, but I wasn’t sure if everyone else would.
I am more health conscious then my family, so sometimes it’s intimidating making healthy treats. I made vegan chocolate cupcakes for his party on Sunday.
They were a hit with everyone, but more importantly Micah loved his. He got his own jumbo sized cupcake.
Monday my parents and aunts spent the day doing wedding errands with me. We looked at the venue again, taking pictures so my mom could brainstorm ideas for decorations. Marc and I can use any of the venues decorations, so we won’t need to buy that much.
The wedding is going to be outdoors out in the open country. It reminds me of my home in Montana.
Marc and I have already chosen the cater for our cake, and did some cake tasting last week. The cakes at Marsells are amazing, and we are happy with our selection.
It was also my parents 30th Anniversary, so we took them out to eat on Monday night after all the wedding stops were made. Yesterday we had our last dinner with my parents, who left this morning. Micah sported his new hat from Papa.
I also picked up another dress for one of my bridal showers after dinner, and I might use it for engagement photos as well.
My running has been slow lately. Ever since Boston my left knee has been achy, and at times so painful it’s hard to walk. I think it’s my IT-band again. I tried doing 20 miles on Saturday but only made it 18.32, more than I should have. Sunday I limped through 2 miles before calling it a run. I rested Monday, and yesterday I did 8 miles and the knee felt great on the run, but sore afterwards. I have the Windermere Marathon in a couple of weeks, so I am trying to keep my body healthy and not over do it.
You know me, I love running too much and don’t know when to stop. Hopefully the knee holds up for the marathon and through July for the Missoula Marathon. Strength training, foam rolling, and ice massages are going to be my new best friends for the next couple of months.
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and I hope your week is going great. I will be posting my race day experience on the Boston Marathon, don’t miss it!! 🙂
