4th Of July Weekend Recap

July 7, 2014 Bryanna

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July Weekend. I enjoyed the 4 day vacation and the time spent with my hubby and family. We have had family in town for the past month, coming and going. I have a friend coming in later this week, and another next week. I love having the company.

Marc and I have a half marathon this weekend in Montana. We are excited to have a little weekend getaway. It’s been awhile.

I wanted to share my weekend in photos. It was a weekend with lots of sunshine, berry picking, and family. Kind of wished I would have done a run on the 4th, but these days I never know how I will be feeling. I did get some runs in, just not a race. Oh well.

Friday was spent picking berries with my sister and nephews, brother and his wife, and my hubby. It was nice that it wasn’t too hot out. We picked over 6 pounds of strawberries that are heavenly, and only paid $8 for them. Then we picked 6 pounds of cherries. My nephew keep sneaking strawberries, and we couldn’t pick them fast enough.

He was a mess by the end of the trip. He loved picking them too.

After getting back from berry picking we walked down to the big park where my sister lives, because they were having live music, vendors and fun for the kids. I took my nephew Micah.

He had fun in the splash pad and running around. I think he got a little overwhelmed with all the kids though, and had enough after an hour.

Later that evening, Marc, my brother, sister-in-love and I went to watch the firework show. We watched from Cliff Drive instead of downtown, so we wouldn’t have to deal with crowds and traffic.

It was a great show. Lots of great fireworks and the view was perfect.

Saturday morning was a lazy morning and a late start. After a late breakfast, we ventured to Coeur d’Alene to hang around by the beach and to eat some lunch downtown. Micah enjoyed the water at the beach and the city park.

I realized it was Marc and I’s first 4th as a married couple, and the last one without any kids. Next year we’ll have a little girl to share the 4th with. It’s kind of crazy to think about.

It was a great weekend and I was sad to see my brother and his wife leave on Sunday. The summer is flying by, which kind of makes the pregnancy seem like it’s going fast, and believe me there are days I love that!!

What did you do over the 4th? Any family traditions?

Looks like you had a wonderful 4th of July!! We went up to my dad’s and swam in the pool and then made dinner with my brother and sister in law and then went and watched fireworks. It was very low key this year for us.

Sometimes low key is always great!! It’s more relaxing that way.
