Happy Late Weekend!!
I hope you had a well spent Saturday. I spent the day picking more raspberries and blackberries and tons of peaches. I have lots of work cut out for me: lots of freezing. I also picked up some great zucchini and plan to freeze some for later use in muffins, breads, and cookies. Recipes to follow. 🙂
I meant to announce my great news a long time ago, but got so caught up with showers and lots of wedding errands. I am officially doing another Ragnar Relay in Colorado from Breckenridge to Aspen. It looks gorgeous. I am doing a leg with 39 total miles and will have a post later outlining my legs. It will be at elevation again, but I am excited for the double medal and all the great fun. It is our same team but Lisa M couldn’t make it this time, so we found another girl, Rebekah to join. I am excited to meet her.
Ragnar Relay and Nuun is sponsoring us for this relay, and it will be ran as an ultra again. We also have a number of different sponsors sending us great fuel for our racing adventures. From Energy Bits, the Naked Edge, Square Bars and Wild Friends Nut Butter.
I was sent a number of peanut butter and almond butter packets from Wild Friends, that are flavored, and I am not just saying this because they are sponsoring us, but they are amazing. I even liked the expresso flavored almond butter. I was surprised, because I am not a fan of coffee flavored anything, but I loved this flavor. They also have cinnamon raisin flavored peanut butter, chocolate coconut, sesame cranberry, and many more flavors. You have to try Wild Friends peanut butter and almond butter.
They are a company based out of Oregon and started by two friends. They are an awesome company, and there nut butters don’t contain any of the bad stuff like hydrogenated oils and only some flavors have a little bit of added sugar. I have been eating the packets plain and by the mouth full and they have been great for after my long, sweaty runs.
I spread it on toast at times too. But trust me it taste great by itself. I love it on rice cakes too.
There’ll be more to come on my Ragnar Relay adventures and a post on nutrition during a relay event. We all know how important nutrition is for our running. As part of our sponsorship from Ragnar we are required to do some blog posts on prepping for the relay and for after the relay, featured on their website. I am excited for this and immediately wanted to do a post on nutrition for relays. Of course I would jump on that!!
Stay tuned for nutrition for running relays and all the many adventures of Ragnar Colorado to come.
How did you spend your Saturday? Ever tried Wild Friends Nut Butters?
