Win Never Tie…that’s the motto for Lock Laces. You may been wondering, what the heck is Lock Laces. I was wondering the same thing when I first heard of them. A friend, who also loves to runs, loves them and has used them. She introduced them to me.
I was skeptical at first, as with almost everything running related. Then I tried them. I have never had a problem with my shoes laces coming untied on my runs or in my races, until lately. It’s maybe happened to me a total of 10 times in my whole career of running…dating back to junior high. Others always had an issue, but I never did.
This past year though, my shoe laces on my running shoes kept coming untied, even when double knotted. I didn’t mind it, until it started happening on race day. So I tried Lock Laces, a solution to untied running shoes.
They were nice enough to send me a few laces to try. If it wasn’t for my friend’s great review of the laces and remembering how she raved about them, I wouldn’t have considered it. I am glad I said yes to trying them!!
With Lock Laces you never have to tie your shoes, so yes the clever #winnevertie is quite clever when you think about it. It took me a while (it’s the blonde hair), but it finally dawned on me, on a run of course what it meant 😉
The laces are simple to use and easy to assemble. You can cut the extra “lace” off, insert the lock and be on your way….running. I kept mine a little longer and just weave through my laces, it’s my preference.
It’s nice never having to tie my shoes or worry about shoelaces coming untied. I tried them out for the first time on race day. I know most would probably never do this, especially a race starting in the elite wave. Never had a problem!! I simply tightened the lock laces to my preference, pulled the lock and toed the line.
I rather use Lock Laces, because they make a better fit for my shoe on me feet. Even on my long runs, they keep my shoes snug. Typically with shoe laces my shoes get more loose as the run progresses. I hate that.
They have many colors to choose from (19 in fact), making it easy to match to your running shoes. You can get 3 sets for $19.99 or pay $7.99 for one set. Not entirely cheap, but not spendy either. I think they are worth it, especially when it means less time tying shoes before races and during races. And it makes taking off shoes super easy.
They even have reflective laces too!! Great for those early morning runs or evening runs, especially during the winter months. Perfect for kids in sports too, especially those who haven’t mastered tying their shoes yet.
Disclaimer: Lock Laces sent me free laces to try. All opinions are my own and I was not asked to write a nice review.Â
