24 Weeks Update

May 13, 2016 Bryanna

We now begin my 6th month of pregnancy folks and the last month of the second trimester. It’s gone surprisingly fast, but this happened last time with R. The first two trimesters whizzed by, and then the last trimester dragged on. Marc and I have been so busy as we prepare for our new house.

Yes, I failed to mention, but we bought a house. We have a few weeks before closing, but it’s been non-stop packing and purging. I love how much we are getting rid of, but we have a lot of little stuff that I am still trying to figure out why we ever kept. I love the unpacking process and organizing, but the packing process I don’t. It’s a battle with a toddler running around, who thinks she’s helping by throwing stuff in boxes or taking stuff out of boxes. Now we are trying to find a renter so we don’t have to break lease. We have had some great leads, but our landlord is making things a little more difficult. I have been practicing blessing him through this process.

I digress though…..How have I been feeling the past 4 weeks, read on to find out……

 Gender: BOY!!

Symptoms: The pressure has begun, so I invested in a two pregnancy belts to wear. One for running and another that is like brace almost for everyday use, and especially helpful now that I am packing and moving around so much. It has helped to relieve some pressure and lift the belly. Nausea hangs around until the afternoon, unless I am on top of eating literally every 1-2 hours. I simply snack all throughout the day. Running helps, but once I stop running within 30 minutes the nausea kicks in every morning. I try to beat it eating right when I am done working out.

Baby’s Size: He’s growing!! According to the app he’s about a foot long, the size of an ear of corn and over almost 1 1/2 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Not wearing maternity clothes just yet. I live in active wear or sweats, especially when I am home all day.

Belly Button: It’s basically all out. There’s a little part of the button hanging onto an inny, but it’s popped fast.

Stretch Marks: None

Sleep: I haven’t been sleeping well the past few weeks. I can’t seem to get comfortable and I am always thinking about a million and one things. I think my stress levels are up and it’s affecting my sleep.

Miss anything: My energy. Maybe it’s because of all the moving and cleaning, but I am so exhausted by the end of the day. It’s been hard to keep up with R and there are times I just want to sit and do nothing. If only I felt like I had the time. The only time I sit is to write this blog it seems.

Cravings: No cravings. I can’t eat big dinners for some reason. Dinner time is my smallest meal and is usually a bowl of popcorn or cereal. For some reason I have no appetite for dinner, maybe it’s because I am eating all throughout the day, basically until 2 0r 3 p.m.

Aversions: Hot foods, like soup. I love soup too. I can’t even stand to look at it in the hot bar at the grocery store. Really I only want something refreshing and cold, like pasta salads. I feel anything I make for dinner I have an aversion too.

Looking Forward to: Our new house. I want to move in and start my garden!! It’s going to be a late garden but we have a nice long growing season.

What I’m loving: My support belts!! They have done wonders. Also, loving chia pudding. I’ve been making it more and more. It’s been fun feeling little guy too. He doesn’t feel as active as R was, but definitely stronger kicks.

Workouts: Still running and able to do long runs under a 8 minute pace, which is nice. I do feel that I am slowing down though and some days I feel so tired. If I do any hiking or hilly runs, it takes it out of me. I think it’s the elevation. Otherwise, there hasn’t been any pains during my runs from round ligaments of sciatic, but there is more pressure, which is why I love the pregnancy support belts.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!
