TGIF !!! That is all I can say. We are starting our weekend early with a getaway! I will have to do some work today, but hopefully can finish some in lieu to our destination.
Since it is Fabulous Fit Friday, what better way to celebrate than with a fun new recipe to get us ready for back-to-school. My family has been back in school now for nearly 3 weeks. They start a little early in Texas. R is being homeschool and it is going good. Easier than I thought, while still being a little work doing lesson plans and trying to fit it into my already jam packed schedule.
So I am being fully honest when I say that I whipped up this recipe. It literally only took me 10 minutes to make these great protein yogurt popsicles. Kid approved too, although I didn’t let my kids eat an entire popsicle, just some licks. Introducing Barleans new Lemon Drop CBD oil! A must have in your “medicine” cabinet.
I don’t need to go over the benefits of CBD oil again, because I have already done so in a previous post and you can read them all here. I do want to highlight some of my favorite reasons as why I use CBD oil though. As a runner, recovery and sleep are important. Really for any human being they are!! And when you are a working mom, trying to manage a household, while working full time from home, coaching, training and home schooling, good sleep is hard to find. So when I do sleep, I want it to be rested, not restless. CBD oil helps promote sleep, helps with pain and recovery and boosts immunity. All wins for me. The above reasons are why I use CBD oil.
Why do I chose Barleans’ CBD oil? Here’s a short list as to why:
- Barleans uses U.S. grown hemp
- Barleans CBD oil is full spectrum (hundreds of naturally occurring compounds and nutrients working together)
- Barleans CBD oil has no artificial ingredients
- Barelans CBD oil has superior absorption
- Barleans CBD oil is sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, non-GMO
- Barleans CBD oil is bottled in a BPA and Phthalate free bottle.
Lemon Protein Pop
These popsicles are refreshing, sugar free, gluten free and made in 10 minutes. You only need 5 ingredients. I added in vanilla protein powder so I could enjoy post workout, because in Texas those runs are hot and sweaty, and I love anything refreshing. The protein aids muscle repair and recovery and the CBD oil helps with recovery as well. The lemon flavor gives it a zing that I love. With the crazy of back-to-school, the heat in Texas and the stressful weeks, these protein pops are just what you need!
Feel free to omit the protein powder. Nothing is needed in it’s place, but maybe a little maple syrup. Using juice from a lemon makes it fresh, and putting real lemon inside gives it the refreshing burst of lemon that creates a fun party of flavor in the mouth. I made all my cross country team jealous when consuming it.
Hemp infused popsicles are something I can get used to and since summer isn’t going to end any time soon in the south, they will be enjoyed for many more months to come. Total time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt or yogurt of your choice *(Greek has more protein)
- 1-2 scoops vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 – 1 c almond milk
- lemon zest, from 1/2 a lemon
- lemon juice from 1/2 a lemon
- 2 tsp Barleans Lemon Drop CBD Oil
- maple syrup *optional, to taste
- lemon slices/wedges, without peel *optional
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a bowl or blender and mix well, except for lemon slices. I didn’t add any maple syrup to my recipes, but if omitting the protein powder, you may want to add a little to sweeten. I squeeze or can use lemon press, for obtaining the juice from the lemon. Divide into 6 popsicle molds. Drop lemon slices/wedges into the molds. Freeze and enjoy!
Servings: 6 popsicles
Barleans has a chocolate mint flavor too in CBD oil, which is amazing! I’ve already shared fun recipes with it. I have to say the flavored oil makes it tastier going down and convenient, as you can stir into oatmeal, pour into smoothies or drizzle over your yogurt or even ice cream (if you’re an ice cream person). The lemon drop flavor is great!! I love the refreshing taste after hot days and stirring into yogurt or over night oats makes for a fun twist on the ordinary.
So give it a try!! Let me know what you think!
