I have become more of a fan of bites/balls, whatever you prefer to call them. They are super easy to create and a great way to curve those sugar cravings. Healthy bites are a great option for snacks after a workout or before working out, or just for snacking on when hungry throughout the day.
I have found that young and old love them as well, because who doesn’t like peanut butter. You can use any nut butter (I personally like almond butter and peanut butter) you love and just add protein powder, dried fruit, nuts, dates, honey, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and so much more.
In the past couple of weeks I have made a variety of different healthy bites for snacking on. This way I have a healthy snack on hand, so I don’t eat the crappy stuff. They are great while in marathon training and don’t have the processed junk that’s in some many of our protein bars or granola bars. The less ingredients the better, and whole is always better than processed.
Here are a few of my favorite recipes for bites, some are new on the blog and others aren’t. Hopefully you can find some you love too!!
Chocolate Almond Espresso Bites – These are one of Marc’s favorite. I used Wild Friends Vanilla Espresso Almond Butter. I love the chocolate and espresso flavors and how they meld together. NEW!!
Matcha Green Tea Protein Bites – Taste like brownies, Matcha green tea powder has many health benefits and adds some caffeine. A great combo with carob powder. Only sweetened with a little honey.
Chocolate Mint Peanut Butter Dough Bites – Mint and chocolate, well yes please!! Honestly taste like amazingness!! Who doesn’t like chocolate and peanut butter?! Tastes like great cookie dough. I enjoyed these over the holidays.
Chocolate Almond Joy Bites – If you like almond joys, then you’ll love these. Coconut, chocolate, and almond oh my!! You’ll definitely find less sugar in these, as well as less of the artificial flavors, hydrogenated oils and processed junk in these, compared to almond joys. NEW!!
Cranberry Coconut Bliss Bites – No sugar, dairy, or gluten. A few great ingredients create one fantastic bite.
Apricot Coconut Peanut Butter Bites – A nutty and fruity combo, you’ll sure to love. With walnuts, pecans, coconut and apricot in a peanut butter base, there’s many flavors and lots of texture. Sweetened with dates.
Pumpkin Bites – Another festive favorite. No sugar, GF and vegan. There’s sunflower seeds and almonds in these, and no nut butters.
Hope you enjoyed the Superbowl and the weekend.
