28 Week Update

June 10, 2016 Bryanna

I can hardly believe it’s already been 4 weeks since the last update, even though the last few weeks have seemed to slowly drag on. Can time fly while being at a standstill? That’s what I have been feeling lately. Maybe it’s the pregnancy that seems to slow, but everything else is going on fast forward.

It’s been a whirlwind the last few weeks as we try to get the new house worked out, and we live out of boxes as we are still at my sisters. I have been trying to get things organized with our mail, bills and other random stuff, as well as trying to catch up on reading and reorganizing this blog.

All of this is worked around working, chasing around toddler and growing a new baby. My energy levels are slowly waning. We’ve also are sharing one vehicle as we try to get my husbands car fixed, which now needs a new clutch. Of course this would happen right before buying a house!! We are trying to find a bigger vehicle for our growing family, but were hoping to wait until the end of the summer. Now it may be sooner than later.

Sorry for all my venting. It’s just been a few weeks of chaos. Now moving onto my growing bump, which will probably result in some more venting 😉 Finally officially in the third trimester.

Gender: Boy!! And may I say a growing boy. I feel there’s no room left in my belly.

Symptoms: I am now to the stage of no sleep, bigger belly, round ligament pain and no appetite. also, feeling less and less energy. Some days I find it hard to even make it through the day. But typically energy is low during the last trimester, which has officially begun. The round ligament pain is most noticeable during runs, and is so painful. The bands are helping with that. Since the baby feels like a giant, he is all over the place, with his hands and head in my vagina and his legs kicking my ribs. I fear what it’s going to be like in a month or so when the growing really begins.

Baby’s Size: According the the app baby boy is around the size of a large eggplant and weighs over 2 pounds. He is roughly around 14-15 inches long. At the growth check up I will know a more accurate size, because I think he’s growing much faster, even though I have hardly gained any weight.

Maternity Clothes: No maternity clothing yet.

Belly Button: We’ll just call it an outy now.

Stretch Marks: None

Sleep: Oh this is a thing?! I don’t sleep any more and it’s only getting worse as the weeks go by. Even though I am exhausted, I can’t fall asleep or get comfortable and baby boy moves all night long.

Miss anything: My pre-pregnancy body, without all the aches and pains. I miss having a flat stomach, that didn’t ache and boobs that weren’t achy and growing bigger.

Cravings: Sweets!! I crave sweets, but really have no appetite. Nothing ever sounds good to me, and I typically can’t eat big dinners, more of a small snack, because I feel to nauseous to eat anything by dinner time.

Aversions: It seems like everything but cereal is a food aversion, and matcha green tea. Occasionally smoothies will be okay, but nothing ever sounds good and most meals I cook I can never consume.

Looking Forward to: The baby’s arrival and getting his nursery ready. I want to get it all painted and decorated once we move in. Marc will be doing the painting though.

What I’m loving: Feeling little guy move, unless it’s a painful jab. I love knowing he’s active!! Then again sometimes it’s painful. There’s less and less room for him and he’s getting bigger and bigger.

Workouts: I am running, but the round ligament pain has been bad the past few days. It just started and has caused my pace to drop a bit. The first few miles are the worst, and then it’s gone and I am good. I am hoping it will subside in a few days or weeks. The pregnancy belts have helped, but there’s a lot of pressure and burning in my pelvis and vagina. It’s also warming up outside, making it harder to run. Even at 5a.m. its 60-70 degrees already, and that’s affected my pace. Long runs still under 8 min miles, but I don’t think that will be for long. Having less energy has also made it hard. After long runs, I am beat for the rest of the day. Keeping my weekly miles around 40-45 miles a week. After my half marathon in a month, I am sure my mileage will be reduced to around 30 miles a week. Been doing my strength twice a week and my core work 3-4 times a week, with some slightly modifications. Hadn’t had to make many modifications yet.
