The Power of TB12 Protein

May 15, 2019 Bryanna

Wellness Wednesday is here with Bryanna –

In today’s world we have heard enough about protein and it’s importance. It used to be all about “meat based” proteins, which left some wondering if they could reap the same benefits by eating mostly plants. Research shows that plant based proteins are just as effective as a whey based protein or protein from other meat sources, and now seem to be the norm.

It didn’t take long for many to jump on the plant based protein wagon, and thankfully producers did! Plant based proteins used to be hard to swallow. The gross after taste, grimy texture in smoothies or water and lumpy mixtures that didn’t seem to stir in well. Now there are many products on the market, and tasty ones at that. I personally love plant based proteins, and not because I am vegan or vegetarian. I love the mixture of plants used and the power behind them. Whey protein can be hard for some to stomach and I personally don’t like the taste as much.

We now throw protein into more than just shakes or smoothies, or at least I do. I use it in my protein bites or energy bites, bake it into muffins, cookies or brownies and use it to make my own protein bars. It’s even been used in avocado pudding, frostings, oatmeals or overnight oats and I love it mixed into banana “nice cream” too!

I have tried several plant based proteins, and always stick to NON-GMO and organic based powders, without any harmful additives or fillers. Protein mix ingredients can be an essay long of unknown ingredients. I would steer clear of those. I love to find those with short ingredient lists and clean ingredients, with no added sugars. And they have to taste good. Most plant based protein powders are a mixture of plant proteins, which helps with taste. One company that let me try their products, was only made with Pea Protein. I was a little leery of how it would taste but it held up in the Petrie household standard. Even Mariah enjoyed it. My favorite way to enjoy  TB12 currently is in a strawberry mango protein shake.

Easily blends, nice consistency and no funky after tastes. It even passed the only milk or water taste (meaning it mixed well into just milk as a shake). My husband does this all the time and he loved it! We both agreed that some proteins can leave the chalky after taste, but this one did not.

Smooth and delicious. You should give TB12 a try. No harmful ingredients, NON-GMO, organic and no sugars!! Comes in chocolate and vanilla and uses pea as the protein source. 24 grams of protein in each scoop, short ingredient list, soy free, gluten free and dairy free, are only some of it’s accolades! 😉 Even better, it is sustainably made and manufactured in the USA.  I recently used it to make my Tart Cherry White Chocolate Cookie Dough Bites too, and it mixed in nicely.

TB12 is a fitness and wellness organization that is dedicated to athletes and professionals and helping them achieve their best performance. A little trivia for you: TB12 is Tom Brady’s organization that is built for the athlete or active individual of any age! Check them out!

Having a versatile protein powder is a must in an athlete’s home and I am happy their are options for clean products.
