Mariah’s Healthy Snacking

June 27, 2018 Bryanna

Mariah here. Today, I am going to finish my Healthy Eating series by talking about my favorite snacks.  If you haven’t already figured it out, I love food!  I also love to snack throughout the day. I guess you could call me a “snackaholic.” (Mariah isn’t joking when she says she LOVES food!! She really does LOVE food – just a side note from Bry).

It can be hard to maintain your figure if you eat all the time. I may be stating the obvious, but it is significantly easier if you eat the right types of food. Thankfully, my sister Bryanna, has created numerous recipes, many of which curb your sweet tooth and keep you feeling satisfied. They are easy to make and provide a great energy boost during that mid-afternoon slump.

The first snack I am going to suggest you try are the Matcha Green Tea Protein Bites.  I picked this snack because I love Matcha.  In fact, I have an addiction to the Starbucks Matcha Tea! My husband is not too thrilled about it, especially when he sees my monthly Starbucks bill!  If you are also obsessed with the Matcha Green Tea Latte, then you have to give these a try.  Another favorite is the Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites. There is no better combination of ingredients than chocolate and peanut butter. Chocolate and peanut butter provides the stress relief we need on a sad or hectic day. Fortunately, these bites actually provide nutritional value.

Oh, and I can’t forget about the Thai Peanut Popcorn.  I eat popcorn like it’s going out of style, so I am always looking for a great seasoning. The Thai peanut seasoning is a perfect combination. It provides a sweet and spicy flavor. You have to give it a try.  Better yet, just try all the recipes on Wholesomely Fit! There are enough to keep you satisfied.

And remember, you don’t have to starve yourself! You can eat snacks throughout the day in addition to your three meals.  Just remember what Bryanna says, “A calorie is not just a calorie.”  If you eat empty calories, not only are you starving yourself of the nutrients your body needs, but you will end up eating more than you should until those nutrients are supplied. Make sure you eat well-balanced meals and choose healthy snacks like the ones I have chose above.

I will see you next time with a new topic.  I haven’t quite decided what I want to share, but I promise you it won’t be about food! I’ll be taking a month sabbatical and will be back end of July. Until then enjoy some great posts planned from Bryanna!!
